THE SECOND annual Cranberry Festival photo competition and exhibit, sponsored by Young Photography, will be held at the Harbortown Events Center Sept. 8 and 9. All ages and levels are welcome to enter. “We had 217 entries in the competition last year and we are expecting more this year,” said Wanda Young of Young Photography. Young said there also will be a exhibit of local and Northwest professional photographers. All entrants must be residents of Oregon and there is a limit of four entries per person. All entries must be ready to hang. Photography categories include: • youth/children (under age 13) • young adult (13-18) • adult novice (over 18 with little experience) • adult intermediate (over 18 who have more knowledge, have won awards before and spend time with their cameras and upgrading their knowledge) • adult professional (any adult who has made any income from their work, or promotes themselves as a professional) • Bandon related (all ages who produce an image that represents Bandon) • Cranberry Festival theme (Castaway to Cranberry Island): All ages can enter but must represent the theme • professional exhibit is by invitation only and is non-competitive. Bandon, Oregon winners in each category as grand, first, second, third and honorable mention. Grand prize winners in each category will receive a free canvas print of their winning image. The Peoples Choice winner will receive a large ribbon and trophy. Entries will be accepted Thursday, Sept. 6. Entries must be delivered between 5 and 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at the Harbortown Events Center, 325 Second St., in Old Town Bandon.
