Bandon, Oregon July 18, for the third Mildred Hill Concert of the year in Port Orford. Candace Kreitlow of Bandon plays Celtic harp while Katie Waldren from Wisconsin plays Mountain (lap) and hammered dulcimer, among other instruments. The two blend their clear voices in subtle harmonies. Heartwood worked and toured together for 10 years in the Midwest where they also created and sold 4 CDs and developed a following. Kreitlow plays frequently in Coos County. Her colleague Waldren is able to come north to play in this venue. “Be prepared for surprise at the seamless combination of traditional and original tunes and a possible guest player,” said an organizer. The concert begins at 7 p.m. at Zion Church, off U.S. Highway 101 at 20th Avenue behind the laundromat in Port Orford. Tickets cost $10 (youth through 18 free) and are available at Port Orford True Value Hardware, at the door or by calling 541-332-9002.
