WRIGHT PAGES | OCTOBER 2013
Sliceby of Beauty Juwan Cottingham
Cuts to a person might not draw blood, but it still can be a frightening and painful experience. The scary thing about coming back to school with a new look is that could look so different that no one will recognize you. For instance, say you come to school with a fade and keep it for most of the year. One day you decide to cut it, and you come back to school with a messed up haircut. You know you have a very small head. You might be under the radar of being talked about in school or even worse, picked on to the point that you are scared of the kids making fun of you because your haircut is so messed up. This is scary to people because they might not be the type of person who likes to play a lot, or might be to afraid to say something back to the people who are picking on them because of their haircut. “If I would cut my fade I would feel lost and I wouldn’t know what to do.” said William Murray. Darren Gibson actually cut his fade after growing it for a year. “I felt lost but I wanted to try something new,” said Gibson. “After a while you get used to the new look.” Coming back to school with a bad haircut after having a fade for a long time can really have an affect on you. This is what makes a haircut scary, so people tend to stay away from them all together.
