Father Christmas to meet many more children this year
Because Southam and some of the surrounding villages have had a large increase in housing Father Christmas could not visit all of the locations covered in previous years. Instead he stopped at 4 or 5 designated places each evening. The local residents were advised where these would be and what time Santa would arrive there. This worked very well. At each stop there were long queues of parents with their children, eager to see Santa. They each received individual attention and a packet of chocolate drops. Santa sat proudly in his newly refurbished sleigh with a magnificent show of glittering lights and the sound of Christmas songs. The Lions Club are grateful for the work of Jaguar-Land Rover in renovating the sleigh, also for the loan of a Discovery to tow the sleigh and transport the ‘elves’ (Lion Club members and other volunteers) between locations. Meanwhile Santa’s elves toured the vicinity knocking on doors and receiving donations from the residents, who gave generously. The charity chosen to benefit from these donations this year is the Leamington-based Lily Mae foundation, which supports parents and families after the loss of a baby. Only one evening venture was cancelled due to bad weather, otherwise the new schedule worked very successfully, and wFather Christmas was able to meet many more children this year. Very well done to all the Lions, their ladies and other volunteers in braving the weather to take Santa along to meet the children and especially to Lions Malcolm Jakeway, Steve Hoyle & Terry Grey for devising such an effective schedule.

oung children become more confident and develop lifelong skills at our safe, fun and welcoming classes, now at Southam Primary School. Here, children aged four to six are introduced to the performing arts through our fabulous range of Early Stages singing, dancing and acting classes.
In our singing classes, children learn new songs and find out about rhythm, timing and how sounds are formed. Our dancing classes give kids the confidence to try new dance moves, while our drama sessions allow budding young actors to role play and practise improvisation and storytelling. Weekly classes are held during term time and are split into three 30 minute classes with equal time devoted to singing, dancing and acting. Each term runs for approximately 12 weeks. A two week trial* costs ÂŁ25 for Early Stages (4-6 year olds) and lasts for 90 minutes each week. If you wish to continue with Stagecoach after the trial is over, simply talk to your Stagecoach Performing Arts School Principal.
