Activity Description and Educational Rationale
As part of the grade 10 Curriculum students are creating their own dramatic performance based on their Global Issues integrated arts unit. In order to transfer the research into a collective piece for performance, the 3.5 hour workshop will provide the students with necessary time together, focus and feedback from professional actors who have worked in this collective methodology. We are fortunate to work in the Tarragon Theatre rehearsal studios; that have hosted workshops, rehearsals and been the creative centre of hundreds of award winning Canadian plays these last 50 years. Students will have the opportunity to work with television, film and theatre artist Paul Braunstein (CBC’s the Burden of Truth, Coroner) as well as Dora Award winning actor and Canadian Screen award winning filmmaker Aviva Armour-Ostroff (Lune, The Drawer Boy)
