Activity Description and Educational Rationale

During this excursion students will visit the Museum of Contemporary Art in Toronto, to explore the contemporary galleries and participate in an art-making workshop. Students will tour the gallery spaces and draw inspiration to help support their studio practice, and develop an understanding of the curatorial practices involved in the display of artworks. In addition, students are encouraged to begin their early investigations into artists who may help support their upcoming Comparative Study research assignment. During the tour, our students are encouraged to: ● Converse, ask questions, and think critically as they interpret artworks by local and international artists across all contemporary art forms ● Consider new perspectives and issues that are relevant and urgent in today’s world ● Personally connect with the topics presented in the gallery’s exhibitions
