2023-2024 LEVEL I INFORMATION FORM Level I Excursions are those which take students to familiar settings within the local area for daytime activities which expose students to risks typically encountered in everyday living or while at school and which involve local transportation either by walking, subway, city bus, school bus, or taxi. Examples of Level I Excursions: trips to museums, local parks, a local store or neighbourhood, a library, an art studio, a concert hall, a theatre, another school, or athletic facility. Parental consent for Level I Excursions is given at the beginning of each school year.

We will walk to Summerhill Station and take the TTC south to Dundas Station and return by the same route. As part of our unit on advertising, students will be inventorying the number and types of ads in the area, interviewing passersby about their response to ads and the impact of advertising on public space. Students should wear their uniforms and appropriate outerwear for the weather. A notebook, pen and cell phone or camera is required.
Safety precautions: students will be oriented to the area, given boundaries, and will work in partners. Teachers will be centrally located and students will have Mr. Burkett’s cell number.
