2024-2025 LEVEL I INFORMATION FORM
Level I Excursions are those which take students to familiar settings within the local area for daytime activities which expose students to risks typically encountered in everyday living or while at school and which involve local transportation either by walking, subway, city bus, school bus, or taxi. Examples of Level I Excursions: trips to museums, local parks, a local store or neighbourhood, a library, an art studio, a concert hall, a theatre, another school, or athletic facility Parental consent for Level I Excursions is given at the beginning of each school year.

Math 10 - CN Tower Trip
Friday, September 20th, Afternoon (12:40-4:00)
Students are to meet in the Learning Commons at 12:40 having already eaten lunch
We will take the TTC from Summerhill to either Osgoode Station (Group 1) or Union Station (Group 2) After taking measurements from various locations downtown, we will head back to school from Union Station (Group 1) or Osgoode Station (Group 2).
Families will have the option to allow for dismissal from downtown Students with permission will not need to return to school.
Both 10 Double Math classes and Grade 10 Standard (20+18+15 = 53)

Students will be collecting data using clinometers and mirrors to calculate the height of the CN Tower Students will collect data numerous times and from a few different locations to be able to discuss the validity and reliability of the methods they used This project gives students an opportunity to apply math to the real world, grapple with uncertainty and error, and practice report writing in math

- Weather appropriate clothing (Check weather for rain/heat)
