ThinkFun is dedicated to making learning fun through play. From logic puzzles and coding games to open-ended construction kits, we aim to help children develop STEM skills and be the creative beings that they are meant to be. Our games are designed to test children’s reasoning and analytical skills in a way that goes hand in hand with the “growth mindset” education reform taking place in schools nationwide. The term “mindset” describes a set of established assumptions held by a person or group of people. Educators are working to encourage students to adopt a “growth mindset,” or the belief that their talents can be developed through hard work and exploring new strategies as a way to change their performance in school. Too many students hold the belief that their abilities are fixed, and by increasing the emphasis on praising the process of learning, teachers have been able to improve student performance and foster a love of learning. This revolution in education is no new concept for us. Our games have always been designed to motivate children to enjoy the process of building foundational skills. This year is no different. In 2017, be prepared to put these skills toward building roller coasters, solving a colorful new take on Sudoku, and composing symphonies. And as always, be prepared to have your mind challenged.
