Fresh ideas for a new school year
Image: Ken Hoff/ Langley School District
The end of the summer is a time of reflection and anticipation; with the first day of classes on the horizon, educators have the opportunity to incorporate fresh, envigorating ideas into their classroom practice. In Langley, we’ve put together a carefully selected series of professional development workshops in the last week of August designed to provide inspiration and practical advice to make the most of the new year.
We’re excited about these workshops— and we hope that you will be too. You can find a detailed catalogue of workshop offerings in the following pages, as well as a week-at-aglance schedule opposite. Workshops take place at either the School Board Office or the Media Centre at Simonds Elementary. You can find driving directions and more details on the final page of this booklet. Registration is now open at
thinklangley.com We’re using a new registration portal called PD Place this year. It’s a simplified interface that will make signing up for workshops much easier, but might require you to input some new details if you are an out-ofdistrict teacher. Feel free to contact Nick Ubels at nubels@sd35.bc.ca or 604 530 4060 with any questions or concerns. Happy learning! The Professional Services Team
