“...if you turn your ear to wisdom and apply your heart to understanding. . .then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.” Proverbs 2:1-6 (paraphrased)
Y our child will receive an education that is... Classical • Students receive challenging college preparatory instruction using the three stages of learning.
The Trivium Stage 1: Grammar (K-4th) Stage 2: Logic (5th-8th) Stage 3: Rhetoric (9th-12th)
• From the Middle Ages through the 19th century, Western civilization was built and shaped by leaders who were educated in the classical tradition. This rich and rigorous educational training produces students who have the ability to learn independently, to analyze logically, to think critically, and to communicate clearly. • Latin is taught at all three stages of the trivium, since the study of Latin has been shown to strengthen vocabulary and reasoning.
University-Model • Lower school students attend school two (2) days per week, and upper school students attend three (3). • Students, under the supervision of their parents, continue the education process at home on the alternate days. • Parents receive detailed assignment sheets from instructors for assistance at home. • Students have the freedom to advance by individual course rather than by complete grade level. • Classes in the lower school are limited to 18 students. • The University-Model Approach allows Providence to offer a very affordable college preparatory tuition rate. • Students may participate in elective classes, such as, Soccer, Art, Golf, Musical Theatre, and Computers.
Christian • The Academy teaches the truth in the light of God and His Holy Word. The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are integrated throughout all subject areas. • The college of faculty consists exclusively of fervent Christian believers. Instructors at Providence do more than instruct—they inspire. Faculty members are genuinely concerned for their students and passionate about their academic discipline. • We support the development of each student’s life in Christ while respecting both the place of the church in his or her life as well as the primary discipleship role that s mit y ad ity belongs to the family. dem tional s, a c m na nA
