MISSING THE POINT. how we as a first world society can misunderstand minimalism
7
When I looked at the entire possessions of this family stacked on their table,
I remembered a conversation I had with a buddy of mine. We were in a Tim Horton’s along Queen Street and I remember him telling me about how he was turning a new leaf. “I’m hitting the restart button,” he said, as he held onto his double-cupped coffee. “I’ve started downsizing things! You know, trying to live minimal. Do you remember that big desk I had in my room? I replaced it with this small Ikea one I bought the other day!” he said.
