RESPO RIVENSIBLE RECR REA TI F

or over a quarter century Kittatinny Canoes has devoted efforts to preserving close to 70 miles of Delaware Riverside with sights set on tackling the task again July 20 to 22 in their annual On and Under the Delaware River Cleanup. Celebrating a 75 year history of responsible river recreation Kittatinny continues their mission of delivering amazing outdoor excursions with a dedicated focus on the beautiful natural resources of the Pocono Mountains region. The Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River, along with, Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area are the targets of this massive preservation effort that

has enlisted thousands of volunteers over the years. An impressive, yet disheartening, 448.90 tons of trash collected consisting of 8,791 tires and over 8,643 pounds of aluminum cans, reminds all of the massive buildup one piece of litter can snowball into. Asking all to bring it don’t fling it and consider canning even grabbing garbage you come across, Kittatinny’s stand on stomping those colossal numbers can succeed. The three day long exertion kicks off at Kittatinny Campgrounds’ site in Barryville, New York the 20th at 8:30 a.m. The cleanup continues with Tuesday’s site set, meeting next to the Dingman’s Ferry Bridge. Sorting all the trash collected

ON

wraps up the 22nd at the group’s Matamoras Base. “Every cleanup is like a big reunion,” the group says hoping all who revel in aquatic splendor, consider joining in to fill the quota of 100 volunteers per day. Calls to RSVP are required with returning volunteers accepted first and new volunteers to be added to a waiting list. So reserve your space in keeping the Delaware River ship shape now and for years to come!

This popular free concert benefitting East Stroudsburg Salvation Army packed with six hours of local, national and international talent kicks off at high noon! A culmination of various talents includes, Shawnee Playhouse Musical Nunsense Jamboree, with performances by local favorite Robin Smith, along with international sensation Natalia Segura
