LAWS ‘N’ PAWS—a unique animal experience tucked away in the beautiful mountainesque scenery surrounding Lake Ariel, has been welcoming generations of guests to explore the WILD life for more than 40 years. Offering the not-so-typical zoo visit, Claws’ exhibits place guests face to face with a diverse collection of over 120 entertaining, majestic and absolutely adorable animals. “We wanted to make it as natural as we could,” explains Claws co-founders Vince and Bobbi Hall. Describing the 30+ acre Pocono Mountains facility surrounded by comfortable shaded trails complimenting the amazing animal sights throughout, they share details on a few new occupants seizing the attention -and hearts- of onlookers. Abby, Alex and Kensie—a trio of truly lovable snow leopard cubs, continue to draw a crowd eager to witness their mischievous antics. Just 10 weeks old and already a handful, the sister and brothers pounce and play under the watchful eye of caretakers.

These frolicking felines aren’t the only cuties whose effortless duties give guests a laugh; a group of some of the cutest little babies brings on the camera shots. From two newborn Serval African wildcats welcomed to the world June 26 barely big enough to peek past parents,

Hula and Herbie; to a female Patas Monkey born April 16 whose mission to wreak havoc over her two older siblings brings smiles to a child familiar with enduring the same from a younger one to blame. From the young to the young at heart, a bond between Vince and his animals is evident as he approaches their homes. Each recognizing his compassionate grin, they approach the gated border for a tender pat or scratch through the cage from their friend. While a safe distance smile and photo op is open to all, another one of Vince’s favorite exhibits, the “Lory Parrot Feeding Area” invites kids and adults alike to enjoy a hands-on experience. This opportunity to Ring the dinner bell, invites guests to join caretakers in the cage with a daily meal for an assortment of colorful winged wonders. “This is a great place to bring the children in the summertime,” gushes repeat guest Eleanora Vanzetta with husband, William, and grandson, Logan by her side, adding, “We always go home later and talk about what he [Logan] learned.” Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily now through mid-October, Claws ‘N’ Paws admission is $18.50 for adults, $17.50 seniors age 65 & up with kids age 2-11 $13.50. Don’t miss their coupon on page 27 for a $1 off each adult ticket!
