MOUNTAIN VIEW Aged to

VINEYARD Perfection C ongratulations are in order for Mountain View Vineyard as they celebrate the winery’s crowning achievement aged five years to perfection! They’re also reaching the distillery’s 1st anniversary with festivities for mature guests set for Labor Day Weekend. Moonshine Margaritas, food and live music are planned for Saturday, August 30 from noon to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, August 31 noon to 4. One of only two winery-distilleries in the state, MV continues growing into an increasingly popular spot to grab one’s favorite flavorful libation! As such, they’ve responded with tours Saturdays and Sundays into the belly of the operation offering interesting tidbits on how wine is made and the types of grapes successfully grown in the Pocono area. Owners Randy and Linda Rice, also celebrating 25 years of marriage, happily oblige welcoming inquisitive visitors into their world of wine. The pair attributes MV’s expansion to “Serving quality products and having a great staff” reporting plans for private events to be held upstairs from the wine tasting room along with the recent purchase of an adjoining property for additional grape growing. Linda explains the groundwork the destination lays for each tasting insisting upon gourmet cheese, dip or dark chocolate to accompany the wine. She reveals, “Understanding how food and wine complement each other enriches the wine tasting experience.”

Visit www.mountainviewvineyard.com for upcoming events and facility tour dates along with a current listing of Mountain View’s hours.

The Pocono Mountains bears fruitful tidbits on historical facts to the wonders of nature experts eagerly dish out.

Clearly wine connoisseurs, Randy and Linda Rice of Mountain View Vineyard Winery & Distillery serve up This Week’s Fun Fact. Did you know... Most grapes have white flesh and juice so the red color you see in red wine actually comes from anthocyanin pigments confined to the outer skin tissue only. It’s these crushed skins fermented over a period of days where anthocyanins are extracted that deliver the familiar rich shade of wine. ...Succulent to the palate, pleasing to the eyes and now intriguing to the mind.

CPAMELBACKSense–atio roving seasons change and year round recreation rules in the Poconos, crews are moving mountains constructing the $163 million Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia Indoor Waterpark to add to the resort’s arsenal of sensational fun. Summer winds down with Camelbeach preparing a monumental send off Labor Day weekend. CBK Adventures dishes out the rush in its exciting treetop course and mountain coaster rides into the fall. And winter ushers in mounds of snow recreation ready to delight skiers, tubers and snowboarders alike. Now as next spring blossoms, so does this popular Pocono destination solidifying its status as a recognized hotspot for yearround recreation, with plans to open the largest ski in/ski out waterpark in the nation!

nal !

Camelback Lodge & Aquatopia will boast an eight -story 453 room hotel and colossal indoor waterpark at the base of Camelback Resort. What does that mean for guests? The option to transform an exhilarating day on the slopes, into an inviting splash indoors at the waterpark in a matter of minutes! Ski right on up to Aquatopia’s doors where inside awaits 13 water slides including the combo family raft ride, Venus SlydeTrap, and Storm Chaser indoor watercoaster. Defying seasonal constraints and resurrecting some of summer’s most memorable delights, you’ll find a huge wave pool, lazy river and zero-depth entry pools offering a daily dose of wet and wild water rides rain or shine with dry options also in the works. A family arcade, indoor ropes course and lazer tag arena add to this 170,000 square foot entertainment center and indoor waterpark complex. Three restaurants, adult and kids’ spas along with 20,000 square feet of flexible meeting and entertainment space compliment the mix. Co-owner, Arthur Berry III looks back on the evolution of Camelback Resort since acquiring the site with longtime friend Ken Ellis in 2005 saying, “We envisioned building a destination resort that offers more four season activities in one location than anywhere in the country,” adding “This will be a place where you can hit the slopes to ski or snowboard and then go surfing in an 84-degree tropical oasis all in one day without leaving the property.” He invites all to check out the resort asking, “What can be more fun than that?” Visit www.CamelbackResort.com or call (855)515-1283 for more information or to book your reservation in the new Camelback Lodge.
