nspiring up and coming playwrights to develop their creative flow, Shawnee Original Playwright Series continues to cultivate the creative arts in the Pocono Mountains. This past spring, summoning submissions yet again proved a positive opportunity to reveal the talent flourishing throughout the region. Read by volunteer actors, creations invited an audience to absorb the sights and sounds then vote commenting on each work. Shawnee Playhouse’s Executive Committee then reviewed ratings with tabulations telling three plays scored closely. The result was unanimous with a trio of full length winners, as well as six short play winners to be produced and performed by Worthington Players in 2016. ew places across the globe offer a chance to mix holiday shopping, along with time spent enjoying friends and family in quite the same way as the Pocono Mountains. To experience detailed craftsmanship and interact with shop keeps, as well as artists and artisans responsible for creating unique works that everyone can enjoy is what sets small businesses apart. Area destinations prefer embracing this opportunity of engaging patrons to pause and take pleasure in the atmosphere, rather than the early to rise and raucous for a deal mindset. Let’s suggest stress free ideas for shopping that’s fun for all and creative. House of Candles off route 715 has a knack for mementos sure to ignite squeals when revealed with distinc-
