“I read the news today.”

Summer Two thousand and fourteen.

Over the summer weeks I began to catalouge a chronological list of national/ international news, cultural, social events or issues that rosonate with me (at least one a week). I was tasked to design a document that is a reflection, analysis or response to these issues. This document should represent a questioning to my current thinking and visual approach. I read the news today.

KITTEL REIGNS

SUPREME With two victories in the first three days of the Tour, Marcel Kittel already looks unstopable. As Buckingham palace loomed behind him, he had the strength and confidence to lead out the sprint finish of the tour’s third stage from 250 metres out and sped up the middle of the Mall, constantly looking underneath and back, as if inviting Perter Sagan and Mark Renshaw to try and emerge from his slipstream and attempt to come past him.

“Jobs include sorting through discarded dirty clothes, dressing up as seafood, stuffing christmas crackers, working long hours for low pay in shops, and delivering leaflets. Most students are hoping to go to festivals this summer, live off mum and dad, get pissing thier student loans up the wall and take drugs this summer, a known ritual of summer has found.

Most students are hoping to work this summer, but only a fifth have been able to find employment, a survey has found. Jobs include sorting through discarded dirty clothes, dressing up as seafood, stuffing christmas crackers, working long hours for low pay in shops and delivering leaflets, the poll commisioned by the student room website found.

Possible failures by British agents to protect former KGB spy Alexander Litvinenko will not be examinied by a public enquiry into his murder. MI6 was accused of failing its duty to protect Mr Litvenenko against a

“ Real and immidiate risk to life An inquiry into the murder of Mr Litvenenko would cost the British tax payer a multi-million pound fortune, to which the Brisiths public could see as a waste of money considering relations between russia and the west are not currently as fine tuned as many parties would have wished. A Murder that took place in 2006, should have been investigated in 2006, not now.

It remains unclear how many people have died int he fighting in eastern Ukraine which has been raging since rebels siezed control of a number of major cities in areas close to the Russian border and voiced thier intention to declare indendance. The rebels, and many locals, say hundreds or thousands have died. They blame Ukrainian troops. How this is being alowed to happen in this day and age is ludicrous. Imagine, Scotland, on the verge of the YES vote to claim thier independance from the United Kingdom and Westminster, killing people, Shooting down aircraft out of the sky full of innocent foreign civilians, and killing innocent local people, Thier own innocent local people, just to make a point, and no one interviening to put and end to the mindless violence.

‘Why are they killing ordinary people? Who will look after the children?’

Uk universities targeting poor, white students. A growing number of British universities are targeting the recuitment of white students in the wake of evidence showing they are the least likelt ethnic group to go on to higher education. One university targetting white student’s, Leeds Metropolitan, says in it’s agreement signed with OFFA that it will seek to “Increase admissions of students from white working-class backgrounds. This is proposturous. Universities should be for the people who want to be there, not for people who were poached by the universities offing them a better life, career and future, just so they can get thier £6000+ a year student tuition fees. I feel that their is currently enough pressures on young people to further thier education and make the jump from college to university, without the university, maybe, just offering out offers based on someones ethnicity instead of thier talent.
