ABOUT ME I am a 22 year old Interior Architecture and Venue Design graduate. I’m a highly organised and efficient individual, whose precise approach to projects has produced excellent results. I’m a very quick learner and I’m willing to have a go at anything that will help me develop into a successful professional designer.

THE MARKET HALL, Derby
05.
THE MARKET HALL, Derby For my main project at the University of Derby, I chose to re-develop the historic Market Hall, which is located in the heart of the city. Unfortunately, the Market Hall has become rather unpopular with the people of Derby. The reason behind the downfall of the current Market Hall is the fact that it’s limited to one single use. A use that has become unpopular and unnecessary in last 20 years due to the rise of supermarkets and shopping centres. Therefore, it is extremely important that the new use of the Market Hall is not fixed and that it can change so the building stays active for many years to come.
EXISTING PHOTOGRAPHS
The proposed use for the Market Hall is an Entertainment and Exhibition Venue. This will include events such as concerts, art exhibitions, corporate events, food and drink festivals, sporting events and even fashion shows. With this wide variety of different uses, hopefully the Market Hall will become the best destination for cultured entertainment in Derby. EXISTING GROUND FLOOR PLAN

TATA TECHNOLOGIES, Leamington Spa
13.
TATA TECHNOLOGIES, Leamington Spa Tata Technologies’ new head quarters in Leamington Spa was the largest project that I was able to contribute to whilst working at Thuja Design in Birmingham. Thuja Design were appointed to design the interior layouts of the entire building, which had been designed by Webb Grey Architects. The 64,000 sq ft building was easily the largest scale project that Thuja Design had worked on for a number of years. My main responsibility during the project was selecting and organising the arrangement of all FF&E that was going to be used in all office wings of the building. It was important that I listened to what the clients wanted because every wing had its own different requirements.

36 GREAT CHARLES STREET, Birmingham
17.
36 GREAT CHARLES STREET, Birmingham 36 Great Charles Street is a nine storey office building in the heart of Birmingham. When the ownership of the building changed, Thuja Design were approached to provide a design scheme for a full refurbishment of the building. The biggest areas for improvement were definitely the reception and main entrance. Our proposal included the removal of a partition wall that separated the existing reception and a small office area. Although it meant sacrificing office space, our clients agreed that this would be the best thing to do in order to make the reception and main entrance more appealing and functional. This proposal can be seen in the visual on the previous page. I was solely responsible for creating the two elevations on the right which were used for planning applications. I also created a Design and Access Statement for the application.

LANCASTER HOUSE, Birmingham
19.
LANCASTER HOUSE, Birmingham Lancaster House is a six storey office building just outside the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham. It also happens to be where Thuja Design’s offices are located, therefore I was very familiar with the building, especially the reception. When the ownership of the building changed hands, Thuja Design were approached to provide a design scheme for the refurbishment of all common areas of the building. The main focus of my work was on the reception. The reception had undergone a refurbishment approximately 10 years ago, however it was quickly beginning to look quite dated. Our clients main objectives for the reception were for the 1920’s original timber panelling to be kept and refurbished, and also for the position of the concierge’s desk to be moved to a more functional position.
I was responsible for surveying the reception for our technical drawings, selecting all the proposed materials and also for creating a SketchUp model from which I used V-Ray and Photoshop to create some visuals. PROPOSED RECEPTION
