VENUE SPACE The proposal for the main space within the Market Hall is for it to become a venue that will host a variety of different events, such as, concerts, art exhibitions and sporting tournaments. The open space is ideal for this type of use as it is very adaptable and there is a lot of space for the visiting public.

ORDISH’S BAR In honour of the engineer who designed the Market Hall, Rowland Mason Ordish, this luxury bar on the first floor balcony will effectively replace the current existing cafÊ within the Hall. The bar will be a place for the paying visitors of the events to go and relax in, whilst enjoying the views of the Hall from the balcony.

MAIN FOYER The foyer of the Market Hall will be immediately before the main space of the venue. Access and views into the venue will be controlled by a mix of speed gates, new partition walls and glazing. Access into the new cafĂŠ will be from the foyer as well, enabling people to see into the main venue as they use the cafĂŠ.

PROPOSAL FOR OSNABRUCK SQUARE At present, Osnabruck Square is an extremely uninviting area of the city of Derby. It is the location of three separate kiosks that were built in 1984, the proposal is to demolish these kiosks and construct a much more attractive public space. This space will include, walkways, green spaces, walled seating, outdoor cafĂŠ spaces and also platforms for two pop-up structures to promote the events happening with in the Market Hall.
