NEOBIT X APPENDIX
Neobit It has been 10 years since Neobit has revolutionalised how we interact with our physical and digital worlds. In 2114 Neobit introduced a system which allowed people the freedom to explore the unlimited possibilities available in the digital world, and transfer their digital dreams into reality. Celebrating our 10th anniversary, Neobit has introduced our new operating system - Neobit X. This redesigned self-assembling, reconfiguring network, programs the physical matter just like the digital. It is the true integration of technology into our physical world allowing instantaneous design and fabrication. Now, with Neobit X, Neobit is no longer a product, but a part of everyday life.

THE PROCESS
The process of making this film includes a few main steps: 1) Shooting in RAW 2) After Effects > Camera Tracking 3) Cinema 4D > 3D modeling, animating, lighting, compositing 4) After effects > Rotobrushing > Colourgrading 5) Premiere > Sound mixing
Step 1 Take the Footage and export from DWG into DNG with RAW MAGIC
Step 2 Import into After Effects and select Camera Tracking. This will allow the software to map out points in the sequence as well as map out a virtual 3D room
Step 3 Select 3 or more points to create a Null or Solid object. This will indicate where the plane is in Cinema 4D. Also by creating “Ground plane and origin will help define where the ground plane is
Step 4 After creating Solids where your potential object will hit, export it into Cinema 4D
Step 5 In C4D, create a cube to see if the ground plane matches the object. If not, move the object manually until it intersects with the solid. Then adjust the angle until the perspective is correct. Then select “Align workplane to selection” to correct the ground plane. When using a background texture, remember to click “Animate Preview”
Step 6 According to the scene, create two shapes that fit the ground and any obect that might have shadows casting on it. Then use the compositing tag and a background texture to make them invisible
Step 7 With the gorund plane and the scene objects set up correctly, create the object you want in C4D. Use make edit as well as face, line, point select to create the desired shape
Step 8 Create appropriate lighting and shadow type according to the scene. At this point it is good to set up the render settings with ambient occlusion as well as global illumination if the material applied is reflective
Step 9 Apply Voxelgen plugin to the objects. Use the parameters to adjust the resolution size, shapes. Ninjacolor plugin will also allow the material have more dynamics in shading
Step 10 Turn off all the solids and make sure test render shows the correct shadowing
Step 11 By using Mograph Effectors, it is possible to hide parts of the animation. Utilising the Plane and Random effector, the desired effect was generated. Use key frames to create the animatino at the right time. Render the entire sequence with MP in TIFF
Step 12 Import the TIFF sequence into After Effects
Step 13 It is possible to see the differnce with and without the MP (Shadow) layer. This picture shows the table without MP layer
Step 14 Showing the MP (Shadow) layer only
Step 13 With both combined, colour grading and audio mixing will be the only thing left to do
