INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS & TRADE MECHELEN DE VEST
AN INTERNA TION CAREER AL
YOU
YOU WANT TO DISCOVER THE WORLD You want to work abroad in a multicultural environment You’ve always been fascinated by other cultures and you love to travel the world. You’ve got entrepreneurial blood flowing through your veins and you always see business opportunities wherever you go. With an interest in international trade and economics, you’re eager to learn how to set up business plans, draw up export plans, lead international projects and so much more. You’re fluent in English with an open mind and always thrilled to meet new people and discover new cultures. If you want to become an expert in market-entry strategies for emerging markets, then don’t hesitate; this is the perfect course for you.
YOUR EDUCATION
100% INTERNATIONAL! Become the international entrepreneur of tomorrow
You will learn how to interact with people from different cultures. With your knowledge of the necessary country analysis tools, you’ll be able to identify interesting new markets and analyse existing ones. You’ll know the best way to enter these markets, negotiate partnerships and expand businesses worldwide. We’ll teach you how to lead international projects; how to adapt to multicultural environments; and how to analyse and penetrate emerging markets. With your focus on intellectual capital, you’ll be an asset in the knowledge economy.
ADDED VALUE Have you always dreamed of an international career? During your study you’ll travel a lot! In your second year you’ll follow a semester abroad at one of our partner universities around the world. And in your third year you’ll do a 3 month internship abroad!
@ WORK Third year students work on different international projects simultaneously for real customers. During the “International Project” course, second year students go abroad to a new city to analyse the local culture, work on a cross-border project and look at opportunities to export a unique business model. At this very moment, second year students are launching a new product on the European market for a local company.
YOUR EXPERIENCE START-UP Maybe you’ve had crazy entrepreneurial ideas in your head for a while. Often that’s where they stay, never seeing the light of day. Shame! With ‘Start(hi)er’, we want to encourage you to develop that idea. ‘Start(hi)er’ is a multi-disciplinary team of final year Business Management students. In their mock company, they provide an accessible service for start-ups, pre-starters and other entrepreneurial initiatives. The Business Management students utilise their subject knowledge, enhanced by the professional knowledge of the supporting lecturers, and the real-life knowledge of external organisations, such as VOKA.
@ WORK Expect genuine business contacts and practical experience throughout your course, with projects, company visits and guest lectures. In phase 2, you’ll work in a mock company. Based in your own boardroom with real suppliers and services you’ll serve your first customer. Just as in real life!
G
