HOUSE T-OM ULB La Cambre-Horta - BA2 2015 This project unites two houses into one. The program of one house is applied to the construction and composition principle of the other. In this case the two houses selected are both made by Japanese architects. The program was taken out from the House OM by Sou Fujimoto and the composition rules were extracted from the House T by Hiroyuki Shinozaki Architects. House T is a simple structure made from the assembly of vertical and horizontal frames. This base grid structure allows to design platters on different levels and find new ways for the floor plans to interact. The space becomes fluid and playful. The separation between floors is blurred. Using ladders instead of staircases, like in House T, also allows us to rethink the way the spaces communicate vertically.

HOUSING ULB La Cambre-Horta - BA2 2015 This project takes place on an imaginary land above a beautiful valley. Together with four other students we decided to raise the houses. This frees up the view from the street and creates a space underneath the buildings, a public extension of the street. It also allows for the creation of a new communal path shared by the neighbors. Each house is then positioned alternately in a way that it can enjoy the view and the sunshine at its fullest. My housing project considers the preset volume as a skin in which is inserted independent spaces. Each of these volumes is made of one bedroom space. On these volumes are then placed the communal areas. These volumes circumscribe the night spaces but define the living areas as well. This creates crossed views and new interactions between the different parts of the house. This mixing of functions allows for a constant usage of the whole house and the fusion of night and day areas into one, making for a better usage of space.

LE CIRQUE ULB La Cambre-Horta - BA2 2015 This project takes place in Anderlecht around the SaintGuidon area in Brussels. The construction site is situated in front of the church and opens itself up on the Saint-Guidon plaza. Behind are aligned a series of warehouses that manifest the industrial past of the area. But the site seems to cut through these warehouses making them look like they were unfinished. The project makes the decision to extend these warehouses, a classical typology used by the past in circuses due to its modular structure. This form allows for the creation of large open spaces, high ceilings and easily usable structures. This choice also allows for interconnected spaces with high transparency and encourages student interactions and horizontal learning.

HOUSING ULB La Cambre-Horta - BA3 2016 This project is situated in the Molenbeek district of Brussels. Located right next to Gare de l’Ouest this area is in need of public spaces and housing. This project tries to combine those two necessities into one project. Built on top of a tram depot, the aim is also to rethink new ways to implement housing in the city. Large, one floor buildings in this industrial area could welcome new living spaces on top of them and create new interactions between different functions. But these raised houses isolated from the street need new ways to interact with the rest of the city. The urban planning allows for the interweaving between public spaces and private houses. These public areas create a new village and urban interactions on top of the tram depot and helps reconnect the locals to the rest of the city below. The houses themselves are based on the classical archetype of the house. Inside, the space is designed to maximize free usage of space. It also implements movable walls that allow for future redesign and reorganization of the space to the needs of the inhabitants. Only fixed furniture is used to suggest spaces like the kitchen or the bathroom. In addition, an outside layer is added as an extension of the house and as a transitioning space between the private and public spaces.

SPORT CENTER ESAP Oporto - MA1 2017 An architectural love story between a building and it’s natural surroundings. This project tries to express the relation between simple forms and the complexity of nature. It all starts with a wide natural and untouched site. Then with Paul Cézanne and his vision about natural forms: « All nature could be reduced to a simple triangle, sphere and cube.». Three simple forms, according to the program and keeping the idea of Cézanne in mind, are then placed in this natural heaven. A pyramid, a sphere and a rectangular prism. Then, nature and it’s purest forms enter in relation between each other. They melt and bind together. Build stories through their usage. Reveal each other with their differences and shine through their similarities.

THE WINDOW ULB La Cambre-Horta, MA2 2017 Edward Hopper’s paintings are an inspiring tool for architectural design. His works usually make use of the window as the central element of the painting. A room, a man, a woman, a dreamy look and a view framed by large windows with atypical proportions. His paintings are used as a starter for this housing project. A series of simple and identical spaces where the different windows from Hopper’s paintings make the architecture itself. The window becomes, like in the paintings, the central element.

HOME FOR LESS ULB La Cambre-Horta, MA2 2017 The Home for Less project initiated by the asbl « L’ilot » and supported by the « architecture construire » workshop from the faculty of architecture La CambreHorta fights against the lack of housing for homeless people or in precarious situations. The project imagines new housing modules that can be implemented into empty and unused buildings. These modules are designed to be taken apart easily and adapt themselves to different contexts of buildings. This allows the capsules to adapt to any situations and thus maximise the possibilities of potential building usage.
