Mortgage market update by Paul Winteridge, The Mortgage Shop The Jersey property market has slackened off in the week leading up to Easter and will remain quiet for a week or so afterwards as people return to work after the holidays. The increased activity experienced since the end of last year looks as though it is likely to continue judging by the renewed confidence that we are seeing especially with first time buyers who are returning to the market after a break of over three years. With the Bank of England base rate set to remain low for some time to come, fixed and variable interest rates continue to be competitive, although there has been a noticeable shift in recent weeks away from loss leading rates which were no doubt intended to bring in the business and, having done their job successfully, have now been discarded.

ENDOWMENT LINKED MORTGAGES
