the orientation and the setback of the building was designed to capture the soft and moderate northern sun. with the bulk of the building situated on the south, it also maximizes the solar g a i n o f t h e f r e q u e n t ly us e d s pa c e s . with the bulk of the building on the south west corner of the site, it is able to break the prevailing wind the uk vulnerable towards.
