When Will We Look Within

Page 1

When Will We Look Within? We've searched the world without When will we look within? There's a greater force than man On which we must depend The answer to our question: Why does our bondage still exist? Is such a simple point But one the whole world seems to've missed When all man's idle thoughts When all his hopes and dreams O! When he's executed all his wicked plans and schemes Will this be our salvation? Will this fulfill our needs? I ask you, will this be the end of hate and strife and greed? No! Man is full of vain imaginations, to this there is no end When left to self his aspirations always will offend What's a ship without a rudder? Or a boat without a sail? Without the mighty force of wind Whence would come the awesome gale? Without the sun how would the crops grow? Without the moon, how the tide ebb or flow? Now, every ox knows his owner and every ass his master's crib But you forgot that which only God could forgive Look within, now, O Black man And learn once again how to live!
