William vanden Heuvel is a celebrated historian, an international lawyer and investment banker who has written extensively on the United Nations and American foreign policy. He has served as the


United States ambassador to the United Nations, executive assistant to General William J. “Wild Bill� Donovan, special counsel to the New York governor Averell Harriman, and assistant to the U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, among other public service roles. Vanden Heuvel has been honored with the Theodore Roosevelt Medal, the Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Award, and the Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal. Crafted from start to finish at Thornwillow, the text is letterpress printed on archival stock and hand-bound in beige Moroccan goatskin with pastepapers made especially for the edition. Each copy is presented in a cloth clamshell box with a suede lining and tooled leather spine label. This edition is limited to 300 copies, each numbered and signed by the author.
