Crafting an American Legacy Our company was founded with the intent of restoring the lost art of making fine furniture that is exquisitely designed and built to last for generations. Almost 40 years later, Thos. Moser is still a family owned business that now employs over 135 people in our Auburn, Maine facility. Like the Shakers, who inspired many of our first pieces, we craft furniture without compromising the delicate balance between beauty and practicality. Thus, all of our pieces are designed to both enhance spaces and withstand the rigors of hard use.

Our designers, engineers and craftspeople are passionate about their work and take pride in every project they are a part of, whether it’s creating a rocking chair as a gift to a new mother or three hundred desks for a multi-story law school library. We enjoy the challenges of designing and building furniture for institutional use and have over two decades of experience creating spaces that are both hardworking and beautiful.

Your Contract partner Over 20 years of success on every scale Thos. Moser furniture sets the standard in homes, businesses and institutions worldwide. With over 60 craftspeople (many of whom have been with us for 20 years or more) and a state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot woodworking shop, we maintain the highest standards in furniture making. Our capabilities range from providing standard residential,

office and library furniture, to crafting one-of-akind signature pieces, to large scale, multi-million dollar projects. We are known for collaborating with our contract partners to bring the inherent beauty of solid wood into public environments in ways that are aesthetically inspiring and built to last.

Thos. Moser has worked on contract projects as small as a 4-bedroom inn and as large and complex as LEED certified university buildings and municipal courtrooms, where technology and security considerations were paramount.

Signature Styles Tailored to your needs Building on almost four decades of design and building expertise, Thos. Moser knows how to add the features that will ensure lasting value. We can build them in the quantities and specifications you need to meet your contract requirements.

What you see may look like the legendary furniture taken right out of our home collection, but it can be specially designed and built to take the extra daily wear and tear of a working or public environment.

Inspired by traditional furniture periods and interpreted with the cornerstone of the Moser aesthetic—a deep respect for simplicity of form.

A fresh approach to furniture design that is continually defining the American craft furniture movement.

A free expression of singular works of functional art. Each piece is conceived and crafted as a beautiful form in and of itself.

Sustainability Moser furniture is built for living and made to last— attributes that befit the number of hours spent using it. Our furniture is enhanced over time. Our commitment to sustainability is also exemplified by our choice of materials. The hardwoods we use are sustainably harvested from Pennsylvania’s Allegheny Plateau, only 350 miles from our shop. (By contrast, it is not unusual for furniture sold in America to log up to 35,000 miles in its journey from the forest to the final home.) Thos. Moser employs 135 American workers in Maine and our showrooms, and supports hundreds of other well paying jobs created by our suppliers throughout the United States.

Moser Retail The exceptional quality of our handcrafted furniture is best experienced in person. Thos. Moser has six showrooms nationwide, where customers can see and feel the quality. Freeport

Integration of Technology It’s all in the details Thos. Moser built an entire company by paying attention to the details. The hallmark of our furniture is exquisite joinery informed by centuries of craftsmanship and virtually unavailable elsewhere in the market today. This same attention to detail ensures that we can integrate technology into our furniture without sacrificing a sense of sophistication.
