William Merritt AccessAbility Exhibition The William Merritt Disabled Living Centre assistive technology and equipment event aimed at both adult and children in Yorkshire is back for 2018. At the event there will be more than 40 stands with options and advice on assistive technology, equipment and adapted driving for disabled children, teenagers and adults. Thursday 18th October 2018. 10:00AM 3:00PM
This Event is free and there is free parking on site.

People Matters Autumn term courses Heading out Explore the city using public transport and plan your own routes. Mondays. 10:30AM 3:00PM for 12 weeks. Digital know how Learn to use laptops and tablets to find information and contact others. Tuesdays. 10:30AM 1:00PM for 6 weeks. Art and Craft Spend time in our art studio creating your own masterpieces. Wednesdays. 10:30AM 3:00PM for 12 weeks. Project pop-up Be part of a top secret event by using your skills to make hand crafted items. Thursdays. 10:30AM 3:00PM for 12 weeks. Courses are free. You may have to pay towards the materials. People Matters Moving Towards Independence course at Barkston House, Croydon Street, Leeds, LS11 9RT.
Develop team building and individual skills. Looking at what your needs are and giving you the best start towards independence.
Starts Tuesday 11th September for 12 weeks. Ends Tuesday 4th December.

Carers Leeds and Leeds Mencap
Carers Support Group.
Carers Leeds and Leeds Mencap invite family carers and friends of adults with learning disabilities to join this friendly and informative group.

Creative Hands Group Susan Hanley runs a creative group that meets every week at LEEP1. The group enjoy doing needle work, knitting, embroidery and making jewellery. You can take what you make home. Every Wednesday 10:00AM 12:00PM

Beautiful Octopus Club Beautiful Octopus Club is taking a break for the first time in 17 years. This is because the Playhouse is closed for re-development.
The Playhouse Team will be back in April 2019 at Leeds University Union, with an extra special evening of music, dance and performance. 2019

Leeds Library and Information Service Leeds Library and Information Service have been helping more people get online. You can learn about using computers at your local library. Most libraries in Leeds have a drop in session. They will teach you how to use computers or tablets. Ask at your local library or email libraryenquiries@leeds.gov.uk Leeds Libraries have been lending iPads to organisations across the city. The Pass it on People have borrowed some.
The Pass it on People have used them to share information, learn new skills and bid on houses. Everyone has found them easy to use. We have written some Easy Read instructions about how to use an iPad. Contact Sarah 0113 270 32 33 or email sarah@citn.org.uk for more information. 12
Pass it on People visit Chapeltown Citizens Advice We met with Kate Huthwaite who is the learning difficulties and disabilities worker. She can help you with problems you might have with Benefits and money. Housing. Employment. Bashiran Zaman also works at Chapeltown Citizens Advice. She is the Black Minorities Equality learning difficulties and disability worker. We found Chapeltown Citizens Advice easy to get to by bus. The 48, 2, 3 and 3A all go there. They run every few minutes. The building has a car park.
