HOME SCHOOL COALITION DALLAS — MAY 9 – 11, 2019
YOUR HEALTH CARE SET FREE For twenty-five years, Samaritan Ministries members have been sharing health care — all without the interruption of insurance. Ranchers and Samaritan members, the Van Dyke family doesn’t pay an organization for their health care. Instead, they send their money directly to another member who has medical expenses. They know exactly where their money goes and what it does.

Welcome to
Called to Teach Homeschool Convention
T
aking charge of your children’s education is certainly a noble act. We here at THSC believe that families have a God-given right to raise their children as they see fit. As such, we strive to protect all families and to support those who decide to answer the calling to teach their children themselves.
Over the past 33 years, THSC has been working relentlessly to support and empower homeschooling families like yours throughout Texas by providing resources, advocating for and promoting homeschooling, and keeping a watchful eye on the Texas Legislature. Called to Teach Conventions are the culmination of our efforts. Since we believe that homeschooling is one of the best models for educating children, we strive to equip homeschooling families with all the tools they need to educate their children. In the Exhibit Hall you will find countless teaching resources, curriculum guides and learning materials to assist you in your homeschooling journey. The many sessions and workshops will both edify and revitalize you. With so much to offer, the Called to Teach Conventions promise a wonderful experience for everyone. We hope to educate you on the foundation upon which THSC was built—freedom.

However, unprotected, the freedom we depend on to continue raising up our children can disappear in an instant. It is our ultimate goal to ensure that every family in Texas remains free to pursue homeschooling without the threat of oppression.
36 GIVEAWAYS
At this very moment, lawmakers in the Texas Legislature are writing, revising and considering bills which could affect our basic family rights and freedom to homeschool. Thanks to you, THSC has been engaging in these conversations throughout the legislative season.
42 KIDS EVENT
Our goal is to ensure that your liberty to raise up the next generation is never diminished. To learn more about your influence through THSC in the Texas Legislature, visit the THSC booth in the Exhibit Hall and ask how you can help secure our freedoms.

Did you know that the first two years of college are well known to be a review of high school? In this session, we’ll cover the history of high school and why combining—or even replacing—high school with college makes sense, the power of the unit modular approach, a suggested daily schedule and much more.

A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW IS VITAL!
It is not enough to tell your children, "The Bible says it, I believe it, end of story." Our God wants us to reason with Him and to count the cost of following Him. We have the most logical, reasonable, verifiable, and brilliant worldview. We must learn it!

Friday, 1:15pm — Kevin and Emily Durham OVERCOMING OBSTACLES TO BECOMING A GOOD STORYTELLER American Ninja Warrior finalist Emily Durham and her husband Kevin Durham share their story and discuss what defines a really good story (and why it is important to know yours well). Saturday, 9:00am (Teen Staff Exclusive Workshop) — Kevin and Emily Durham CHOOSING THE RIGHT FILTER FOR YOUR STORY Discover a new lens in which we can all see our stories clearly and know the path to a meaningful purpose is obtainable. Let’s explore how to live a culturally backward life, where messiness and simple things in our stories are not hidden but redefined as beautiful and valuable because we‘re hidden in Christ. Saturday, 1:15pm (Teen Staff Exclusive Workshop) — GirlDefined, Kristen Clark 3 TRUTHS TO DEFEAT SOCIAL FEAR AND WORRY Many young people wrestle with social fear and worry. It doesn’t have to stay that way. Rather than succumbing to labels like “shy” and “introvert,” equip yourself to become socially confident. Learn three biblical truths to conquer social fear and how to enjoy genuine relationships with others.
