Our venues may be closed, but the music plays on.
On Monday 6 April, Town Hall Symphony Hall broadcast a pre-recorded performance of Organ Scholar, Mie Berg playing Symphony Hall's magnificent Klais organ.
Mie Othelie Berg comes from Bodø in Norway and is a third-year PhD student at the University of Birmingham, where her project looks at the civic organ tradition in the Midlands, between 1834 and 1914. Prior to this, she trained as an organist at NTNU Instiutt for Musikk in Trondheim, Norway, and at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Copenhagen. She is the current organ scholar at Birmingham Town Hall & Symphony Hall, as well as holding the Dame Gillian Weir Organ Scholarship at the Royal Festival Hall in London.
