The tree crown is very dense, making it valuable for shade, and the species provide nest sites for many mammal species. This project creates a connection between public and private space by organizing the space in a form inspired from the root and by using a large opening to connect each room and to connect the user with the sights, sounds, and their physical movement. 27

PROBLEM Re ce nt l y, m o s t Th a i yo u t h p ay l e s s at t e nt i o n t o Th a i p e r fo r m a n ce , including Khon, even though it is the highest level of dramatic performance since ancient times. Khon is one aspect of Thai culture that can represent the identity of Thai art. Nevertheless, there is no existing place to show the history and value of Khon for Thai people and foreigners to learn and experience simultaneously. Also, the existing spaces, such as Sala Chalermkrung, provide only Khon performances eve r y T h u r s d ay a n d Fr i d ay. Therefore, this would be the opportunity to create a place where foreigners and Thai people in the next generation can inherit Khon through the dissemination of knowledge and experience.
