To make your choice even easier, Thule snow chains come in three categories. Each category has different models of chains to choose from, subdivided by the number of technical features offered and the ease of fitting.

Rigid arch fitting system The innovative internal rigid arch system makes fitting the chain very intuitive: from the top to the bottom of the wheel.

External fitting system The Thule K-Summit model attaches to one of the original wheel lug nuts (not the anti-theft one) and thereâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s no need to fit additional elements to the wheel.

Flexible cable fitting system The flexible cable allows you to fit the chain from the bottom to the top of the wheel.

Foot activated tensioning system Simply open out the built-in pedal from the central bar and press down with your foot to activate the self-tensioning system. The chain will automatically slip around the tyre as soon as the car moves off.

Self-tensioning system with micro regulation Patented automatic tensioning system: the chain slips around the tyre as soon as the car moves off, and with the micro regulation system, the tension is perfect.

Nylon protection bumpers Nylon bumpers can be fitted to protect alloy wheels.

Easy-fit release system Just press the two red buttons at the same time and release the safety catch, and the chain comes away.

Automatic release system Just pull on the red release catch on the outside of the tyre and the chain comes off on its own.

Icebreaker reinforcements Icebreaker reinforcements can be added to chain treads to offer better grip on snow and ice.

Front-back connection chain Special steel links connected in a special ‘S’ shape connect the central bar to the internal rigid arch.

Aluminium central bar Aluminium central element with built-in self-tensioning system.

External removal system By pressing the red buttons on the aluminium bar the chain comes away automatically.

Internal rigid arch The special internal rigid arch makes fitting the chain more intuitive and means you can fit from top to bottom.

Anti-scratch alloy wheel bumpers Anti-scratch nylon bumpers for alloy wheels and inner side of the bar lined with soft-touch anti-scratch fabric.

Bag-rug with instructions The chain is kept in an elegant nylon bag, which opens out into a practical rug, useful during fitting. The fitting instructions are clearly printed on the inside of the bag so they are easily visible during fitting.

How to fit Thule Easy-fit Take the two ends of the rigid arch and open it.

Lay the chain on the tyre, starting from the top and making sure the arch is completely behind the wheel.

Open out the pedal and push down with your foot until you hear it click. Close the pedal and start the engine.

How to fit

Step 1 Put two of the plastic plates over the tyre.

Step 2 Attach the fixing system to one of the wheel nuts, and screw on with the tool.

Step 3 Activate the ratchet system to make the chain move toward the rim. The chain will slip automatically onto the tyre when the wheel rotates.

The chain size label Every pack has a supplementary label with the chain size and the tyre sizes that can be fitted.

The chain size But just in case you misplace the label or forget the size of your chain, all Thule snow chains have the chain group printed on the red hook positioned on the outside of the chain.

What you should know before you choose the right snow chain The 3 measurements of the tyre: the 1st indicates the width, the 2nd the aspect ratio and the 3rd the diameter of the rim expressed in inches.

Consult your vehicle “Use and Maintenance” manual and check instructions on fitting snow chains.

Remember that snow chains must always be fitted on the driving wheels. If your vehicle is 4WD, check the “Use and Maintenance” manual.

Notes In Italy, many sections of motorway require drivers to carry chains with them and many provinces and regions are issuing snow regulations for the current winter season. In Austria, the obligation to carry snow chains is in effect from November 1st until April 15th. In Finland and Estonia, the obligation to carry snow chains is in effect from December 1st until February 28th. In Slovenia and Macedonia, the obligation to carry snow chains is in effect from November 15th until March 15th. In Lithuania, the obligation to carry snow chains is in effect from November 1st until April 1st.
