oo hoo!!! Spring has sprung! We were sitting in the office at home a couple of days ago and at 5:00pm Scott jumped up and decided it was way too nice to be in the office working, so we grabbed our jackets and out the door we went. We were able to get a good 2-hour ride in before it got dark, and didn’t have to wear our leathers! You know its riding season when you can get a late start, and still get a decent ride in! “EXTRA” Matt.25:1-13 is the parable of The Ten Virgins. Before we get into this there must be an understanding of the Eastern culture when it came to marriages. Eastern culture’s focus was on the groom and not the bride, and the marriage ceremony would last for days and was always at night. These Ten Virgins were what we might consider debutants today. All came from good families, all were well dressed, all were young ladies of culture, and all looked the same. The Ten Virgins represent purity and through the Blood of Jesus Christ, we Christians are to represent purity in today’s world. But we notice that in Vs. 2 “Five of them were foolish and five were wise,” but yet they all looked the same. Vs. 3&4 “The foolish took their lamps with no oil and the wise took their vessels with their lamps.” Now we know that all the lamps had some oil in them because it was at night and all the lamps were burning while they slept. The difference between “the foolish and the wise virgins” was that the wise virgins brought some “EXTRA” oil in their “vessels.” Like today’s church members, we all look the same but there are some of us (wise) that have gone the “EXTRA” mile with God and there are those (foolish) that will only do just enough to get by. They only pray just enough, they only give just enough, they only read their Bible just enough, they only come to church just enough. These are foolish to think they will reap the same rewards, because the wise that have paid the price to fellowship with God. “Salvation is free, but anything after that will cost you dearly, you have as much of God as you want.” Now notice that in Vs.5 “The bridegroom tarried.” God will show up when things are ready not when you think He should show up. Could it be that it’s you that’s not ready for God? “They all slumbered and slept.” I don’t care how long you have been a Christian or how spiritually deep you think you are, we all get tired waiting on God. Notice the slumbering before the sleeping. Slumbering means to be inactive, to be in a state of negligence. This always comes before falling asleep. Vs.6 At midnight (darkest time of the night) the cry was made, behold the bridegroom cometh! What you have been praying for and believing God for is finally here! Vs.7 “Then all those virgins trimmed their lamps.” To trim an oil lamp you must cut away the top part of the wick so that your light will be brighter. Are there some things in your life that need to be “Trimmed?” Maybe some drugs, alcohol, or maybe some people in your life need to go. Your light will never be as bright as it can be without some “Trimming.” Vs. 8 “The foolish ask of the wise, give us of your oil for our lamps have gone out.” April 2019
Vs. 9 “But the wise answered NOT SO lest there not be enough for us and you…go and buy for yourselves.” Have you ever notice that when you get prepared for a storm or hard times hit and you have saved up for it, that now people get mad at you because you won’t give them what you have worked and slaved for, while they partied all their substance away? Now you know it’s Biblical not to give to a fool! Vs.10-11 “While they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with Him, and the door was shut! The foolish came saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us. Vs.12 “But He answered unto them, I know you not! Don’t wait until the last minute to get things right between you and God, don’t do “just enough” to get by…….. “GET YOU SOME EXTRA!” So until next time, “Keep your kickstand up and your face in the wind” To be found faithful, Pastor Ron

HERE WE GO AGAIN!
OOD DAY fellow bikers! Spring is finally here! As you are reading this month’s Bullet Points article, the days are getting longer and warmer. Warmer days and longer daylight hours mean road trips are right around the corner - and you can be sure your ever-lovable grey beard biker, and Miss Tracy, have lots of road trips planned this year. Our first major road trip will be to the Hill Country of Texas to ride the Twisted Sisters in early April. Watch for some pictures from this trip in an upcoming article. I am looking forward to this ride as it is through concealed carry friendly states. When you are planning your road trips this year make sure you understand the reciprocal arrangements the states you will visit have with your state. Failure to do so can ruin your trip in a hurry. Here we go again! – the title of this month’s article is typed with much trepidation by me. Our elected representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives are up to their old tricks again having passed two terrible bills along partisan lines: H.R. 8 and H.R. 1112 are abominations and show how much the Democratic caucus hates your guns. H.R. 8, if it were to pass the Senate and be signed into law by our president, will make it illegal for you to give a firearm to your son, daughter or close friend without having the transfer done by an FFL and Federal background check being done. And it goes way beyond this by making it illegal for you to even allow a family member or friend to borrow your gun at the range. But from my standpoint, it’s what took place in parallel with H.R. 8 that highlights the deep divisions between Democrats and Republicans. Representative Doug Jones (R-GA) proposed an amendment to the bill which would require the National Instant Criminal Background Check system (NICS) to notify U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) if an illegal alien tries to purchase a firearm – which is by the way is a felony. Fortunately, 26 Democrats defied Nancy Pelosi, and the house leadership, voting in favor of the amendment. If the leadership had been able to keep its caucus aligned on this bill it would have highlighted just how far to the left the House of Representatives have drifted by imposing unnecessary burdens on law abiding citizens while turning-a-cheek on illegal felonious behavior by a constituency they view as critical to their future electoral success: undocumented illegal aliens. Friends, their true colors are on full display as infighting of Democrats culminated in

freshman Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) stating that the 26 Democrats voting for the Jones amendment will find themselves “on a list” – a clear reference to primarying these lawmakers out of office in the next election cycle. H.R. 1112 is another unfriendly bill to supporters of the Second Amendment. Named the Enhanced Background Checks Act of 2019, this legislation has been dubbed the Charleston Loophole bill by some Democrats. Unfortunately, it will do nothing to prevent a Charleston type of tragedy. What H.R. 1112 will accomplish is making it harder for some law-abiding citizens to purchase a firearm. Currently, if the FBI cannot provide an instant approval for transfer of the firearm, they have three business days in which to either approve or deny the transfer. If H.R. 1112 becomes law, they will have 10 business days to either approve or deny. If they still cannot make a decision, the transferee can make a formal petition for a decision. At this point, the FBI would be given another 10 days to make a decision. Potential legal purchasers, perhaps someone with a similar name to a person who cannot legally purchase, may very well get caught in a trap which would require them to resubmit their NICS background check as it would have expired before 20 business days elapsed. This could lead to a continual loop of NICS checks being performed with no actual decision ever being made. The bill’s sponsor, James Clyburn (D-SC), has characterized this bill’s intent as providing a “cooling off period.” Do not let these bills fool you. Democrats want to characterize enhanced background check legislation as being supported by 90%+ of NRA members. This is a lie. They will continue to push for ever stricter gun laws which will not make people safer. If this is allowed to continue, your rights will continually be chipped away. Contact senators Lamar Alexander and Marsha Blackburn and ask them to vote against these bills. If you reside in Kentucky, contact your senators, Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul. If either of these become law, it will be incredibly hard to undo the damage they will cause. Until next month, put some miles on your bike and stay safe out there! Molon Labe, Mike Noirot

As you get ready for a new riding season, take some precautionary measures to make yourself more visible to motorists. Many motorcyclists comment that when they ride, they pretend to be invisible and motorists cannot see them. This in turn results in defensive riding. Don’t take for advantage that motorists see you and take precautionary measures to make yourself be seen. Remember, safe riding starts with you! GENOA BAR AND SALOON
I
n Genoa, NV, nestled just outside of Carson City and Reno, a thirsty traveler can quench his thirst while stepping back into the 1850’s. The Genoa Bar and Saloon, opened in 1854, is the oldest “thirst parlor” in Nevada and is pretty much preserved in its original state. One-half of the top of the bar is original to the middle, where there is a line, as are the red oil lamp (lit every New Year’s Eve) and the original oil light fixtures which have been converted to electricity. True to the era, the building is still heated by a wood burning stove. One of the original huge diamond dust mirrors remains behind the bar. Originally there were two, but one was sold to a movie company during the depression. These mirrors were made in Glasgow, Scotland, in the 1840’s, carried by ship, around “the horn” to San Francisco, and carried by covered wagon to Genoa. Bikers will appreciate the decor. The walls display what would be considered rather racy female nudes from the era, and a dusty, black, leopard skin bra, hanging from antlers. Bras once decorated the room, but when Raquel Welch was asked to contribute hers, she insisted that all the others be taken down.

Nowadays, for a small fee, you can be escorted to a safe where all the other bras reside. Ladies, contributions are still being accepted and yours can become a part of history. Seems like everyone enjoyed a cool one here, including Mark Twain, U.S. Grant, Cliff Robertson, Lauren Bacall, Red Skelton, Richard Boone, Carol Lombard, Clark Gable, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels, Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings, to name a few. “The Shootist”, ”Honky Tonk Man”, “Misery”, and “A Place Called Home” were some of the movies filming scenes here. The front porch remains a gathering place during the summer. When Judy and I were there, the retired college football referees were in town for a conference and golf. Turns out that one of them refereed the 1998 UT championship game and another, several of the Ole Miss games, making Judy and I both pleased to talk with them. HARLEY-DAVIDSON ACQUIRES STACYC, INC., MAKER OF ELECTRIC-POWERED TWO-WHEELERS FOR KIDS
H
arley-Davidson, Inc. announced last month that it has acquired StaCyc, Inc., producer of the 12 and 16 EDRIVE, electric-powered two-wheelers specifically designed for kids. StaCyc, which entered the market in 2016, currently designs, markets and sells their EDRIVE models for kids, with an MSRP range of $649 to $699. StaCyc EDRIVES are sold in the U.S. through powersports dealerships, including 29 Harley-Davidson® dealerships, online and in specialty bicycle retailers. “We’re thrilled to have StaCyc become part of the Harley-Davidson family,” said Harley-Davidson Senior Vice President of Marketing and Brand Heather Malenshek. “The StaCyc team shares the same vision we have for building the next generation of riders globally and we believe that together, we will have a significant impact in bringing the fun and enjoyment of riding to kids everywhere.” The acquisition of StaCyc expands Harley-Davidson’s electric portfolio and reinforces its commitment to lead in the electrification of motorcycling. Harley-Davidson previously announced plans to launch LiveWire™, a premium, high-performance electric motorcycle in fall 2019 and future lightweight and middleweight electric motorcycles at various price points starting in 2021. The StaCyc electric twowheelers will provide an entry point for the youngest riders to enjoy the thrill of riding. As a subsidiary, a Harley-Davidson branded version of StaCyc’s 12inch and 16-inch models will be sold through select Harley-Davidson

dealers. The branded products will be available in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2019. StaCyc branded EDRIVES will continue to be sold through StaCyc’s existing distribution network. Since its inception, StaCyc has inspired more than 6,000 new riders to join the sport through its fun and upbeat brand that focuses on sharing the love of riding through its line of kids’ electric two-wheeled products. The company has served as a catalyst for engaging riders at an early age and has been first to market with an entirely new category in both the motorcycle and bicycle markets. “After a few conversations with Harley-Davidson, we realized that the ethos of our brands and our commitment to bringing more riders to motorcycling were incredibly aligned,” said Ryan Ragland, Founder of StaCyc. “The opportunity to work with the team at Harley-Davidson and have the support to carry out our mission to create the next generation of riders is exciting. The accelerated plan, which was unveiled in 2018, focuses on building the next generation of riders through new products in additional motorcycle segments, providing broader access to the brand and products and a commitment to supporting and strengthening dealers globally. Harley-Davidson previously unveiled its plans for its full portfolio of motorcycles, starting with LiveWire, which will be available for sale later this year in the U.S. Preorders in the U.S. are now open and the company announced today at the Geneva International Motor Show that preorders for Europe will begin in April. “We’ve said previously that we believe electric vehicles are where global mobility is headed and they hold great appeal for existing riders as well as opportunity to build new riders,” said Malenshek. “As we lead in the electrification of motorcycling, we’re demonstrating our commitment by delivering a full range of electric products for a vast audience who will be inspired to imagine and discover what is possible from Harley-Davidson.”

Dear Fellow Veterans and Patriots of Tennessee: On the 23rd of April, 1910, Theodore Roosevelt gave his “Citizenship In a Republic” speech in Paris, France. One paragraph from this speech has been dubbed “THE MAN IN THE ARENA.” “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.” On November 4, 1979, a group of Iranian students stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, taking more than 60 American hostages. The Islamic radical cleric, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, spawned an uprising by Iranian students and took advantage of Prince Reza Pahlavi being in America for cancer treatment. The students took over the American embassy and made hostages of the workers. Khomeini took control of Iran and made it a primary sponsor of worldwide terror. Jimmy Carter was President at the time and was in the process of running for a second term in office. His advisors convinced him that a military operation to free the hostages would get him re-elected. All of these dynamics led to Operation Eagle Claw being launched on the 24th of April, 1980 - Seventy years and one day after Teddy Roosevelt’s speech in Paris. After Vietnam the military was downsizing and trying to forget guerilla warfare. Special operations was on the outs with all of the services. One Vietnam veteran, Colonel Charlie Beckwith persevered and convinced the Joint Chiefs to establish SFOD-D, more commonly known as Delta Force. Delta was just getting started
when it was tasked to rescue the hostages in Iran. You can learn about Operation Eagle Claw on the internet but for those who don’t know about this operation, it ended tragically in the desert. One of the helicopters crashed into a refueling plane on the ground leaving burnt aircraft and several dead courageous service members. A second operation was begun based on the experience learned from the first. It was called “Honey Badger” and became a big step forward on the road to what we know today as our elite special operations forces. Today all of the services have highly trained elements of skilled men and women who have volunteered to endure great pain, survive extreme tests, put their lives on the line to protect our country and keep us safe. Freedom is not Free and those who sit in their armchair unwilling to fight for their freedom deserve servitude and seem to be voting to be enslaved. Over the years I’ve benefited from many euphemisms that give encouragement and attitude to those who go in harm’s way; “Reality comes in 6 to 9 round bursts,” “If it’s not worth bleeding for, it’s not worth doing,” “Always go in shooting and see whose is left standing when the smoke clears,” and “It doesn’t matter who wins or loses as long as someone gets hurt,” and one you’ll recognize - “Ride it like you stole it.” Freedom belongs to those who take action to keep it. The hippies of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s were linked to a general anti-government attitude and energized sympathy for communism and socialism. Many of those same people have become the “Deep State” and brought their commie/ anti-America activism. They lost the Vietnam war and if unchecked will cost us our country. Anti-American’s must be defeated!!! (preferably by the ballot box) MAGA! Keep the faith. Thank a vet for the freedoms we still enjoy and support politicians who will bring back the ones we’ve lost. Fly the flag of the people and be proud you’re an American. Hug the families of those still missing because their quest for closure has not ended. Live the good life and ride for those who can’t. Calsonic Flat Track Races T
he rough and tumble world of indoor flat tract racing returned to the Calsonic Arena in Shelbyville over March 1 and 2. Lynchburg Flat Track Racing brought their races to the Walking Horse arena, converted to accommodate “steel horses”. There were classes for all ages and experience levels, including a Striders Class, for kids under 6, where Benjamin Zinola propelled his foot powered scooter to victory. Racing is a family affair for the Bumpus family, where Tom Bumpus, daughter Alex McDonald, her husband Josh, and her sons Truman and Mason, all competed in their respected classes. Angie Bumpus held down the fort at the Bumpus vendor tent and kept an eye on Truman. Bubba Boswell brought his “family” of Hooligan Racers, while wife, Betsy, and Chris Boone’s wife, Amanda, served as score keepers. Chris placed 1st in the Hooligan Main and the Mad Dog Pro classes and is an X Games participant. Bubba participated in several classes and won the over 50 class. For those interested in getting into flat track racing, Hooligan racing is for you. This is a “run what you brung” class, for non-racing bikes, 750cc and over. At Shelbyville, where most ran stripped down bikes, one rider raced his beautiful Harley bagger. There was also, a Hooligan race for the ladies only, with Kaity Woodall taking 1st. Coy Cummings had a great night as did Richard Brodock. Cummins took 1st in the 85cc two stroke & 125cc four stroke, 65cc, and 85cc classes. Brodock won the Light Vintage, Heavy Vintage, Mini Bike, and Goofball classes. Alex Dumas took top honors in the Open Pro class. Special thanks to the Cross Soldiers! THE LAST RIDE
DODGING THE ROADKILL
I
recently posed the question on my social media that if you knew it would be your last ride, where would you go? The answers were varied and covered a lot of territory, but the common theme of all the responses I got was, “happy.” I’ve shared with you before, that the time I spend on my motorcycle, is the closest I come to being truly in touch with my life. I have so much time to think of what was, and what will be. Things I’ve done, both good and bad, places I’ve been, people I’ve met. What kind of man have I been. What kind of father, husband, friend. You have a lot of time to think, especially if you’re cutting across Kansas. LOL! When you spend long hours on the back of your bike, fully exposed to all that is around you, your mind races everywhere. My senses are peaked anyway, and the thought that this could be the last ride is always lurking in the shadows. I love this experience so much, I never want it to end. But I also realize that all good things come to an end, so what does that mean? It means that each and every time I venture out, I absorb the experience for all it’s worth. The people I’m with, or just me and God. I’ve never experienced that feeling until I started this journey. I’m honored to ride with veterans, firefighters, policemen and hard core adrenaline junkies. Men who have put their lives on the line and men who know the true meaning of danger. This experience is the closest I’ve ever come to that experience. I’m by NO means a hero, a warrior, a life saver, but the nature of the beast on this motorcycle puts me on the edge, and I appreciate how it makes me feel. You know when you have something that you want to experience forever but you know you can’t? The adrenaline, the anxiety, the excitement? It’s all right here on the back of my Harley. But the reality is, that last ride is coming, ready or not. I wrote a column recently about why bikers mean so much to each other and I’m convinced that one of the greatest reasons there’s such a connection with bikers is, we all feel the same

thing when we ride. Our bikes might be different. Our gear might be different. But at the end of the day, we’re bikers and the risks we take are universal among us. Adrenaline junkies say that it’s the danger that pushes them. It’s the risk they take for the adrenaline they get, from the thrill they seek. Bikers experience the same thing and that’s why we can’t wait to saddle up again and let it rip. I appreciate each ride for what it is. The sights and sounds. The views and the smells. The company I keep. The brothers I travel with. It’s a glorious time, and naturally, I would love to plan my last ride, on my terms and not on those of some reckless driver, or mechanical failure. So if I get too old and weak, or become ill or injured and can’t ride, then the memories of this journey will be enough for me, because I put everything into it. I didn’t hold back. I never wimped out when it was too cold, or too wet. I respected my brothers and loved the miles we rode together. Nothing is forever, and hearing your ideas about YOUR last ride were special and profound. I get it, and it’s because of those of you who have been riding much longer than me. I’m encouraged that even at this stage of the game, there’s much more to come and I’m encouraged to be a better biker. I’m not in a hurry. I want to get all I can get from this experience. JUDGE RULES GOVERNMENT CAN'T SEIZE MONGOLS M/C PATCH The Mongols motorcycle club has won its latest round in a decade long battle with the federal government, when a California judge found that a jury’s recent decision to strip the club of trademarked logo was unconstitutional. On February 28, 2019 U.S. District Judge David O. Carter ruled that denying Mongols members the right to display the logo would overstep the constitutional right to free expression embedded in the 1st Amendment, as well as the 8th Amendment’s ban on excessive penalties. “We are ecstatic that the Mongols motorcycle club has been able to win this 1st Amendment battle for itself and all motorcycle clubs,” said Stephen Stubbs, an attorney for the Mongols.

“The government has clearly overreached into a realm that the Constitution does not allow. They tried to ban symbolic speech,” Stubbs told the Los Angeles Times. Stubbs, a.k.a. “Bowtie” as bikers call him, is a member of the National Coalition of Motorcyclists Legislative Task Force (NCOM-LTF) and is legal counsel for the Southern Nevada Confederation of Clubs (COC). In December, after a lengthy trial, a jury convicted the Mongols Nation entity as an organization of racketeering and conspiracy charges stemming from a 2008 investigation, and the ensuing guilty verdict thus allowed prosecutors from the U.S. attorney's office to pursue a court order forcing the club to forfeit the trademarked symbol that appears on their patches. Judge Carter affirmed the RICO convictions, which could carry fines at sentencing in April, but his written ruling marks a setback for federal prosecutors after they convinced a jury in January to allow the government to seize the club’s patches and trademarks as criminal instruments. Carter’s ruling, which has drawn national attention in this first-ofits-kind case, is being hailed as a major victory for all motorcycle clubs, but it is expected to be appealed and may eventually make its way to the U.S. Supreme Court. “Save the Patch” and Motorcycle Profiling will be among the many issues that will be discussed at the upcoming NCOM Convention in Orlando, Florida, May 10-12, 2019. CLUB COLORS BANNED FROM IDAHO STATEHOUSE FOR ANTI-PROFILING VOTE Members of motorcycle clubs in Idaho were recently barred by Capitol Security from wearing their colors into the State Capitol on March 4, 2019 during a Senate floor vote on Senate Bill 1109, a bill prohibiting motorcycle profiling. ABATE of Idaho immediately sent a letter to all state Senators and Representatives calling for a cessation of such unconstitutional acts of discrimination, stating in part that “Any government agent denying an individual access to Senate Chambers because they are wearing motorcycle club colors is a clear violation of speech, association and due process rights protected by the U.S. Constitution.” The bill, sponsored by Senator Lee Heider (R-Twin Falls), a motorcyclist himself, would have outlawed motorcycle profiling by state or local law enforcement for the purposes of traffic stops, detentions or other actions. SB 1109 defines motorcycle profiling as “the arbitrary use of the fact that a person rides a motorcycle or wears motorcycle-related paraphernalia as a factor in deciding to stop and question, take enforcement action, arrest, or search a person or vehicle.” Although a similar anti-profiling measure passed the House unanimously last session, Senators killed the proposal this year by just one vote, 17-18. Motorcycle profiling has been the subject of discussion not only in Idaho, but across the nation. In December 2018, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution to promote awareness of and discourage motorcycle profiling. Anti-motorcycle profiling bills

have been considered in several states, and has been enacted into law in both Washington in 2011 and Maryland in 2016. MOTORCYCLE MANUFACTURERS JOIN FORCES TO ENHANCE SAFETY Recently, six motorcycle manufacturers have joined forces with the goal of increasing safety for road-going motorcyclists in the United States. The Safer Motorcycling Research Consortium (SMRC), a non-profit entity, is borne of the cooperation between American Honda Motor Company, BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Indian Motorcycle Company, Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., and Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A. To this day, any motorcycle-related legislation only has the Hurt Report done in the late 70s to turn to for concrete information about motorcycle safety. “Technology throughout all of modern transportation has advanced so far, so quickly that a good comprehensive, multifaceted look at the risks and advantages of motorcycles on our modern roads is long overdue,” states RideApart.com in assessing the consortium. “Hopefully along with integrating safety measures into motorcycle design, these companies will release the results of their research for the benefit of everyone on two wheels.” Keep an eye out for more news coming from the SMRC, as it is “committed to working collaboratively with U.S. federal agencies to conduct pre-competitive research in order to substantially enhance the safety of the motorcycle riding ecosystem.” LANE SPLITTING BILL PROPOSED IN CONNECTICUT A Democrat state senator in Connecticut has introduced legislation to allow motorcyclists to lane split in that state. State Senator Cathy Osten (D-Sprague) proposed Senate Bill 629 "To permit the operator of a motorcycle to operate between lanes of traffic as is permitted in other states and countries and thereby ease traffic congestion." Although California is the only jurisdiction that has legalized the practice in the U.S. and Canada, politicians in Texas,

Washington, Oregon, Montana and Utah have proposed such bills, while Hawaii has legalized a similar measure which allows motorcyclists to filter ahead on the shoulder of the road in congested traffic situations. Lane splitting, or “filtering”, is also legal in a number of other countries, notably in Europe and Asia, with many sources indicating that it helps reduce congestion and emissions while increasing safety for the riders who engage in the practice. IS AN AUTOBAHN COMING TO CALIFORNIA? California is considering creating speed limit-free lanes on some major highways, similar to the famous Autobahn in Germany. Senator John Moorlach (R-Orange County) introduced Senate Bill 319 which would require the Department of Transportation to create two additional lanes on Interstate 5 and State Route 99 north and southbound with unrestricted speed limits. Replacing the now defunct High-Speed Rail project with dedicated lanes would let Californians speedily and safely traverse the Northern and Southern parts of the state. Like the German Autobahn, the new lanes would be designed for both high-speed and safety, as a World Health Organization study estimates road traffic deaths per 100,000 people is 4.1 in Germany, while 12.4 in the United States. The project is also anticipated to reduce emissions, by decreasing the number of idling vehicles, which would justify paying for the project using the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund. “Why don’t we provide people with vehicles the opportunity just to drive at 100 miles an hour, get to San Francisco in a shorter period of time than the train would?,” Sen. Moorlach told CBS Sacramento, adding that there are fewer reported incidents on the Autobahn. 8 Ozs. Philly Cream Cheese = 1 Box 2 Cups Okios (brand) Plain Greek Yogurt 1 tsp. of Lemon Zest 1 tsp. Onion Powder 1 tsp. Garlic Powder 1 tsp. Celery Salt Salt & Pepper to Taste 2 tsps. of Better Than Bouillon (brand) Chicken flavor 2 Boxes Green Giant (brand) Frozen Spinach; thawed & rung out in a clean dish towel 1/4 Cup of Green Onions or Shallots; chopped 1/4 Cup of finely minced Red Chili Pepper (seeds removed) In a bowl beat up the cream cheese, yogurt, seasonings and lemon zest until fluffy. Fold in the spinach until well blended. Stir in green onions or shallots and chili peppers. Taste for seasoning, adding anything if needed. Refrigerate overnight for best results but at least 5 hours before a party, etc. Makes about 3 full cups. Serve w/ small pieces of toasted French bread or a really sturdy chip. This is addictive!
E-Z Easter Sauteed Ham Steaks
2 Pre-Cut Ham Steaks (in grocery meat section next to pork chops) Calculate 1 ham steak per person. Shaker of Cinnamon Bottle of Favorite Syrup Put a pat of butter into a very large skillet or on a flat skillet. Remove ham steaks from plastic wrap and pat down with paper towels. Place in melted butter or quality margarine over medium-high heat. Shake cinnamon all over one side while cookling; a little or a lot, your call. Flip when one side is golden brown, shake cinnamon on other side and drizzle syrup all over the flipped side. After the down side is golden brown, flip again so the other side can absorb syrup. Remove each to it’s own plate and take the pan drippings and drizzle equally over each ham steak. These are so easy to make and they always turn out super tender and scrumdiddlyicious! Dip in honey mustard sauce, bbq sauce, any sauce you choose.

MaMa Rabbit’s Colorful Easter Sour Cream Cookies
1/2 Cup of Butter 2 Cups Granulated Sugar 4 Eggs 1 tsp. Vanilla 2/3 Cup Sour Cream 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda 3 tsps. Baking Powder 4 Cups All Purpose Flour 2 Tubs of Pre-made Butter Cream Frosting 1 Set of Food Dye and colored Sparkles or Granules In large bowl w/ electric mixer, beat the butter and sugar on high until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, vanilla and sour cream and beat until smooth. Add baking soda and baking powder and flour and beat on low until combined - dough will be soft, almost like cake batter. Preheat oven to 350 and line your baking sheets w/ parchment paper. This recipe makes 24 cookies and you need to give good room between them so you’ll probably need 2 cookie sheets and yes, it’s o.k. to put one on top oven shelf and one on 2nd or bottom shelf. Drop cookie mix by the Tablespoons onto baking sheets, 3 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes; until edges are golden and centers are set. Move cookies to a cooling rack when done in oven. Next take your tubs of frosting and separate into 4 small bowls and add just a drop each of dye to make pink, yellow, green & blue frosting. Frost your cooled cookies and sprinkle your colorful sparkles or granules over top for decoration. Have Fun! and get the kids involved.

In 5 seconds flat, the bridge is right in front of him and his tow truck gets wedged under it. Several cars are backed up and most are honking out of frustration. Towken is totally pissed. Finally a police car arrives on the scene. The cop gets out of his car and walks up to Towken’s driver side window, puts his hands on his hips and says, ‘Got stuck, huh?’ Towken shakes his head and says, ‘No, actually I was delivering this bridge and just ran totally dry out of gas.’ -------------------------------------------------------------You can’t count your hair. Mountain Man Memorial March Honor Through Action
By Indian Rider Bill The Mountain Man Memorial March (MMMM) began as a way to honor 1LT Frank B. Walkup, IV, a University of Tennessee graduate and ROTC alumnus, who was killed in action (KIA), in Iraq in 2007 when an IED detonated near his vehicle. Upon learning of his death, a group of UT ROTC Cadets were looking for a way to honor him and his family. That year the Mountain Man Memorial March was born. The inaugural march, in 2008, was held in Gatlinburg, TN and included 40 Cadets from East Tennessee ROTC programs. The march consisted of a 26.2 mile march with participants carrying a 35lb ruck pack. The UT Ranger team carried a picture of 1LT Walkup, along with a Gold Star flag, honoring parents of fallen US Military serviceman and women, and presented it to his mother at the end of the march. The annual event has grown and now consists of the full 26.2 heavy ruck, a 13.1 half ruck, and has categories for civilian runners and walkers as well. Last year’s event drew an astonishing 1,200 participants, from several states, to honor over 100 Gold Star

families in East TN. The town of Gatlinburg consistently and without hesitation, supports this event as it draws thousands to honor our fallen. Gatlinburg was chosen because of the rugged terrain that surrounds it. The route is grueling, make no mistake. The Twelfth Annual MMMM is scheduled for 27 April 2019. As you can imagine, volunteers to support water stations, registration, medical tents, motorcycle patrolling the route for those in need, and general help at race village are always in demand. As a participant in last year’s march, I can tell you how important dedicated volunteer help is to this mission. The MMMM welcomes veterans groups, enlisted/officer councils and civilians to be part of this incredible movement. All volunteers will receive free lunch and access to race day events.
