THE MOVES OF GOD

Isa. 43:18-19 “Remember not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold I will do a new thing.” In order for you to know where you’re going, you have to know where you’ve been. I have always been a history nut; therefore, I have also studied Church history, and there is a common thread running throughout all religions; they all started with a move of God, unfortunately most of them didn’t move with God but remained where they started. Matt.17:1-4 “Jesus taketh Peter, James and John up into a high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them…” This transfiguration was so wonderful that they wanted to build three churches on this high mountain, but if Christ had let them, they would have stayed on that high mountain and thus would have been the end of the gospel. Let’s take a look at “The Moves of God” in the modern-day church; 1. The Holy Spirit movement (1930-1940) 2. The Healing movement (late 1940-1950) 3. The Deliverance movement (1950-1960) 4. The Youth movement (late 1960-1970) 5. The Teaching movement (1970-1980) 6. The Charismatic movement (1980-1990) 7. The Prosperity movement (1990-2000) All these Moves of God were real and meant to impower God’s covenant people, but man soon learned how to “pimp” these Moves of God and they came to an end while leaving some remnant fruit behind. I believe the last move of God will be The End-Time Harvest of Souls,” the biggest Church revival the world has ever seen. I believe that the modern-day Church will experience the same mighty miracles that the early church experienced. I have often wondered why the modern-day church hadn’t experience the healings, the deliverances, the prosperity, or raising the dead that the early Church had. I believe that the “spirit of religion” has had over two thousand years to lead God’s people away from the Word of God and settled for religious doctrines, personal opinions, emotionalism and legalism. Today we are told to pray for the sick, all that sounds good but if you read God’s Word, you’ll find that Jesus never told us to pray for the sick, Jesus said to heal the sick. Mark 16:18 “lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.” Luke 10:9 “And heal the sick…and say unto them the Kingdom of God is come nigh.” I would think that after the people would witness the healing of the sick, raising the dead, casting out devils, they would receive the Word of God like never before, such as in the book of Acts 4:4 “…many of them which heard the Word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand (in one day).”

Until next time, keep your face in the wind and your kickstand up. To be found faithful, Pastor Ron
