appy August! I have to say that most years August is not my favorite month for riding due to the heat, that’s why this time of year we usually head to the relative coolness of the mountains of east Tennessee which we will be doing as soon as we put this issue to bed. I can’t wait… it’s my birthday weekend and I get to celebrate it in one of my favorite places for riding! Y’all check out the events coming up in this issue, there are so many great ones! Here’s one that sounds like fun for us ladies… on August 20th & 21st Nirvana Roadhouse is having a Biker Chic Nation Rally that you ladies don’t want to miss. They’ll be promoting lady riders and having a big time with games, a ride, good food, and the all-girls AC/DC band, Shoot To Thrill will be rockin’ the stage Saturday night! And if that’s not enough, Susan Galpin, aka “The Queen of Quick” will be hosting a free riding seminar on Friday and leading the ride on Saturday. So get there early Friday and enjoy some girl time at Nirvana’s backwoods bar and bonfire, they have plenty of primitive camping, some hookups, and hot showers, then stick around for Sunday Funday! There are a lot of great events happening this month so be sure and check out the events page and our advertisers ads and we hope to see you at some of them. We’ve been so busy that I forgot to say “Happy Birthday” to us last month! July 5th marked 7 years for us as owners/ publishers of Thunder Roads Tennessee, so Happy Belated Birthday!! When I think back about where we started and where we are now, it’s hard to believe just how far we’ve come, and we cherish each step along the way, the good and the not so good. But just like our lives, our job is a constant work in progress. We all want to reach the top of the mountain and feel that we have achieved something, we want to be finished, but that’s never going to happen, which is the way it ought to be. Trust me, you’d be bored if you weren’t constantly changing and growing. Whatever you are working towards, and however far you still have to go, take the time to truly bask in everything you have achieved thus far. It doesn’t matter if you are moving fast or slow, only that you keep moving! And the best way to ensure that you continue to do that is to cherish each step along the way. As always, please support to our amazing advertisers that support us by shopping at their businesses when you’re in need of a product or service they provide. Ride Hard Live Free, Denise & Scott

fter selling his Harley Dealership, Dale Walksler moved his motorcycle collection to Maggie Valley, NC. Then 19 years ago, he decided to share his collection as the Wheels Through Time Museum. After Dale’s death, his son, Matt took over and continues adding to the collection. Currently, there are approximately 350 motorcycles, rare automobiles, and unique machines on display. These include many oneof-a-kind bikes, one belonging to Evel Knievel, unbelievable autos and race cars, and even an airplane and a mine car powered by Harley engines. Everything runs. Matt and his assistants will happily answer your questions and even start a few up and sometimes do a burnout. I could ramble on or include more pictures. I think our readers would prefer to see more pictures until they can view them in person at the museum. With that…. Ride Safe and Have Fun!! Cooper

PERMITLESS CARRY
O
n April 8th of this year, Governor Bill Lee signed the “Permitless Carry” bill into law. What is it and what does it mean to you? Some people call the new law “Constitutional Carry” and it may seem like it is on the surface but most legal experts agree, it isn’t. To pass a true constitutional carry law in Tennessee would seem to be pretty simple, all lawmakers would have to do is remove the law which makes it a crime in this state for any citizen to carry a firearm with the intent to go armed (TCA 39-17-1307). What the permitless carry law does is make exemptions to that law. What it does mean is that if you legally meet the list of specific qualifications provided in the law you can as of July 1st carry a lawfully possessed handgun “most” places in the state without a permit. I am not a lawyer, and this is not legal advice, but we’ll try to go over some of the things you can, and can’t do within the new law as we understand them. Who can carry without a permit? Any person 21 years of age (18 if you are currently in or have been honorably discharged from the military) who is not otherwise prohibited from possessing a firearm by 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) as it existed on January 1, 2021. Just because you can legally possess a firearm doesn’t mean that you can carry without a permit in Tennessee though. The law obviously doesn’t apply to anyone who has ever been convicted of a felony and those convicted of domestic violence offenses, but also anyone convicted of stalking, or who has had one or more DUI’s in the last 5 years or two or more in the last 10 years. It also doesn’t allow anyone who has ever been “adjudicated as a mental defective, judicially committed to or hospitalized in a mental institution pursuant to title 33, or had a court appoint a conservator for the person by reason of a mental defect”. Now for what it doesn’t cover long guns, the law doesn’t apply to long guns, you may not legally carry a rifle, shotgun, or even a handgun with a barrel length 12” or longer. As with either the concealed handgun permit, or the enhanced handgun carry permit, you can’t carry on government property or any legally
posted business. Both permits allow you to carry while at some parks and greenways under certain circumstances, however, not at all while permitless carrying. Without a permit it is still illegal to carry in public parks, in public campgrounds or on public greenways. Permitless carry also doesn’t exempt anyone from the federal gun free school zone law, permit holders are exempted so if you are carrying without a permit it is still a federal crime to carry within 1000’ of a school zone. Also you can’t carry without a permit in the 35 or so reciprocal states unless that state and every state you must pass through to get there has true constitutional carry. As always it is on you to know the laws of the states you are traveling through and to. Some of the things you can do while permitless carrying, if all other conditions of the new law are met, you may openly or concealed carry a handgun only. If all of the exceptions are met you can store a handgun in your vehicle anywhere you are legally allowed to park. If you have a permit, you can carry without the permit in your immediate possession, unless you are in a place that requires a permit, such as public parks or greenways, or gun free school zones. The new law has also increased the penalties for some gun related crimes, theft of a firearm was a misdemeanor with a 30 day sentence, but it is now a felony and carries a mandatory six months incarceration. The new law also bars felons convicted of possessing a firearm from early release. Again, this is not meant as legal advice, but our opinion is that it is still best practice to keep, or get, the enhanced handgun carry permit. It remains the best defense of your right to keep and bear arms in the state. The processes and cost for getting both the handgun carry permit, and the enhanced handgun carry permit are unchanged by the new law. No matter what, it is each individual’s responsibility to know the laws if you choose to carry, so read all of the applicable laws, learn what they mean, and make your decision armed with the most knowledge and information you can have.

SPIRITUAL LAWS There are three different types of laws (as an example); 1. Man-made laws (murder, theft, assault,) 2. Natural laws (electricity, gravity, aerodynamics) 3. Spiritual laws (salvation, prosperity, healing) These laws can work for you or they can work against you. The Kingdom of God is operated by spiritual laws. I noticed something very interesting in three different scriptures while studying about healing. Mark 5:25-34 The woman with an issue of blood; ■ Vs.27 “She came in the press (a lot of people) ■ Vs.31 “Thou seest the multitude (a lot of people) thronging thee.” ■ Vs.34 Jesus; “Daughter, thy faith has made thee whole.” With all the press-multitude of people that wanted to be healed just as bad as she did, why is it that she was the only one recorded to be healed? Mark 10:46-52 Blind Bartimaeus; ■ Vs.46 “A great number of people…sat by the highway begging, he began to cry out; Jesus thou son of David, have mercy on me.” ■ Vs.52 “Jesus said unto him, go thy way; thy faith has made thee whole.” Once again, we see “a great number of people,” that wanted to be healed just as badly as Blind Bartimaeus, why is it that he was the only one recorded to receive his healing? John 5:1-9 The lame man at the pool of Bethesda ■ Vs.3 “In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk.” ■ Vs.6 “Jesus said to him, wilt thou be made whole?” ■ Vs.8 “Jesus said unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.” ■ Vs.9 “And immediately the man was made whole.” Here we also see “a great multitude of people” that they all wanted to be healed just as badly as the lame man, but here too he was the only one recorded to have been healed. These odds also mirror the modern-day Church today. Everybody wants to be healed, but few are. The woman with
the issue of blood spoke; “If I may but touch His clothes, I shall be whole.” Blind Bartimaeus “thy faith has made thee whole.” The lame man wouldn’t give up. All three had activated a “Spiritual Law” and were “Immediately healed.” Another important note: they were not just healed, “they were all made whole!” Matt.13:58 “He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” Unbelief has stopped many of God’s people from their healing, prosperity and even salvation. Until next time, keep your face in the wind and your kickstand up. To be found faithful, Pastor Ron Until next time, keep your face in the wind and your kickstand up. To be found faithful, Pastor Ron

DRAGON CITY SPORT BIKE EXPO
W
e’re taking a departure, a side road if you will, from our regular content and are banging some gears to the fast lane - sport bike racing. Living in Tennessee we are blessed to have a superb mix of mountain roads, loops and twisties, lazy scenic rides and the mac daddy of them all, The Tail of The Dragon. Many of us have ridden The Dragon and plenty have done it over and over. It’s just one of those things that has to be done. Trikes, glides, sporty’s, metrics and an assortment of baggers make up the majority of our reader/riders who have done the 11 miles of 318 curves. Not to mention the vast numbers of sport car drivers that test their mettle as well. Understandably so, most of the 318 curves we shift, brake and clutch through remain anonymous to us. But to others, Copperhead Corner, Gravity Cavity, Thunder Road Bend, and Cooper Radar Straight take on a whole new meaning; Knee dragging. So let’s talk about a local knee dragger, Jamie “Red” Hester. Jamie started riding just over a year ago on a 650 Triumph and has made hundreds of trips up and down The Dragon. And not in a racing posture, but one that allows her to apply specific techniques that build skills and confidence. She saves the racing for the right venue. What started out to be an interest, an allure, in the sleek sexiness of fast aerodynamic bikes with plenty of get up and go HP, to the variety of flashy protective gear (side note-Jamie’s nickname “Red” comes from her first pair of riding gear, red pants), has
morphed into something much more. As part of her progression to become a skilled rider/racer she was introduced to a program, a how to 101, that actually is a day at the track, many days at the track in fact. Training at these world-class raceways, Virginia International Raceway with a 3 mile grueling course, Carolina Motor Sports Park with 2 miles of tucked tight racing and Road Atlanta, a pro-grade 2.5 mile 12 turn course all at speeds up to 135mph, are a few where she applies the learned skills of lean, push, get off the bike and drag that knee to use. This is that racing we were talking about. During the last year Jamie has caught the attention of many professional sponsors and had the opportunity to race many high performance bikes- Aprilia, Ducati, GSXR, Kawasaki and Triumph in a competitive setting. And her initial role as a participant at track day sessions is behind her as well, she’s now an instructor Staff member. When she’s not racing, she’s taking pictures as an accomplished photographer. As Jamie is a local East Tennessee rider that is passionate about her sport, she’s just as passionate about sharing her journey with others. Along with Thunder Roads Tennessee and Dragon City, Jamie will host a 3 hour workshop (vendors, equipment demo, tech talk) for those who are interested in learning more about the inside line of sport bike racing. We hope to see you on August 28th at Dragon City, 4407 Calderwood Hwy, Maryville, TN 37801 #Thunderroadstennessee, #Dragoncitytn, #wickedred865

O
nce again, the communists who run Cuba are being challenged by the people of Cuba who want freedom from tyrannical Marxist oppression. It’s somewhat amazing that after the last Presidential election the American people may be waking up to the Marxist strategies being waged by the Biden Administration here under the leadership of Barak Obama. Fidel Castro guided a revolution in Cuba in the 1950’s that eventually was successful in running President Fulgencio Batista out of the country on 1 January 1959. Since that time Cuba has been a communist dictatorship supported by the Soviet Union (now Russia). It has been used to export communist revolution in the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa and Asia. The United States has been forced to fight counter revolutionary wars and conflicts in those areas ever since. Maybe you remember the battle of Grenada where President Reagan sent U.S. troops in the remove Cubans who were building a major base from which they could launch attacks and threaten other Caribbean countries. Insurgencies were fought in El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, and many countries in South America. The people in Cuba don’t have the ability to do anything without government approval. If they don’t do what the government says they lose the last of their freedoms and suffer imprisonment or execution. This is what life is like in communist countries. Once again, the disarmed people of Cuba are rising up to demand freedom and once again they are being smashed by the fist of Marxism. Where is President Biden? President Kennedy went toe to toe with Russia when they sent ballistic missiles into Cuba that could strike major cities in the United States. Most American Presidents have boldly acted to support freedom to oppressed people around the world. Until Obama befriended the communist government in Cuba our policy has been to support freedom for the Cuban people. Now Biden is refusing to accept Cubans fleeing communist oppression while bringing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens across the Texas border. If only the people of Cuba and other communist countries had a second amendment things would be very different! Poor brain-dead President Biden can barely read the 3x5 card he’s been given by his handlers. He can’t really lift a finger to help the Cuban people because his administration is attempting to do in our country what Castro did in the 1950’s. They are executing the mechanics of taking control of our nation that will ensure a perpetual Marxist domination of the American people. They’re tearing down American history so it can be rewritten to support Marxist glorification of the state, executing financial policies that will ensure high inflation to drive people into poverty and make them dependent on government support. Once you are dependent on government support you have to do what they say or they will take that support away. The purge in the military of phantom white supremacists is just their way to ensure the military’s bond to the United States Constitution is broken. Why you ask? Because as they consolidate control over society the military’s prohibition from actions on American soil will be broken and the military will be used to support the conversion to Marxist rule and doctrine. Why do you think they are telling our youth to inform
on their parents? These are just a few of the Marxist tactics that were successful for Mao in China, Lenin in Russia, Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Why is Hunter Biden being allowed to sell his preschool art for hundreds of thousands of dollars to unnamed people when its obviously a pay for play scam to line his pockets in return for access to the upper levels of our government? It’s all about making corruption obvious and getting the American people to accept it as normal and allowed for the Marxist elites. Why are the teachers’ unions and major corporations being strong armed to institute racism into our youth and society? Because critical race theory is about making all the races hate each other and fight with each other for government favoritism. That puts the Marxists in the catbird seat. They can give the cash to the races that kiss their feet and punish the races that won’t. They are working to tear down Martin Luther King because his ideals were for no racism and society being gauged by the content of people’s character. Marxists don’t want that!! They want everyone gauged by how compliant they are to the elitist state. If they don’t keep us fighting with each other we might figure out that we’re being scammed, join together and secure our constitutionally guaranteed freedoms before they can erase them. They want to have the power to tend us like cattle and put the milk of our labor in their pockets. Why do you think the tech giants are censoring free speech and making billions of dollars? Why would they censor an American President but not censor the world’s communists and terrorists? Look around. The evidence of what they are doing is everywhere. Read the history of the communist revolutions in China and Russia. Marx and Lenin wrote the plan down. All you have to do is read up on it and see it in action today!!! Turn on your TV and see Marxist manipulation and propaganda in full force. I’ve said it before, we’ve been in a pot of cool water and they keep turning up the heat. Wake up!!! We’re being boiled!!! Keep the faith. Thank a vet for the freedoms we still enjoy and support politicians who will bring back the ones we’ve lost. Fly the flag of the people and be proud you’re an American. Hug the families of those still missing because their quest for closure has not ended. Live the good life and ride for those who can’t. You can comment at bousle19@comcast.net - Bulldog * My monthly column reflects my personal point of view and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Publishers of this magazine, but they, like me, acknowledge the sacrifices made for the privilege of Freedom of Speech, therefore, they gratefully let me rant. HIGHWAY BILL PASSES HOUSE INCLUDING MOTORCYCLISTSUPPORTED PROVISIONS The U.S. House of Representatives passed the “Investing in a New Vision for the Environment and Surface Transportation in America” or INVEST in America Act (H.R. 3684) on July 1, 2021 by a mostly partisan vote of 221-201. The five-year $715 billion surface transportation and water infrastructure bill directs federal investments in roads, bridges, transit, rail, and clean water programs, and also contains several key provisions benefiting motorcycle riders; SEC. 3005: GRANT PROGRAM TO PROHIBIT RACIAL PROFILING was amended to include grant funding to include “the costs of collecting, maintaining, and evaluating data on the driver’s mode of transportation at traffic stops” to help determine biker profiling by law enforcement. SEC. 3011: STOP MOTORCYCLE CHECKPOINT FUNDING, not only expands prohibitions on motorcycle-only checkpoints, but also prohibits law enforcement activities that “otherwise profile and stop motorcycle operators or motorcycle passengers using as a factor the clothing or mode of transportation of such operators or passengers.” SEC. 3013: MOTORCYCLIST ADVISORY COUNCIL, reauthorizes the MAC to “advise the Secretary, the Administrator of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration on transportation issues of concern to motorcyclists,” including “barrier design, road design, construction, and maintenance practices, and the architecture and implementation of intelligent transportation systems technologies.” H.R. 3684 specifies that motorcycles must be taken into consideration when the Department of Transportation (DOT) conducts safety studies on autonomous vehicles. Additionally, the Highway Bill earmarks $5,760,000 in 405 safety funds to states for motorcyclist safety in the next fiscal year, and increases program funding by more than a third annually through 2025. Once the Senate passes their own version of the highway bill, both chambers will come together in a Conference Committee to iron out any differences before sending the bill to the President for his signature. Time is of the essence, as the current surface transportation bill expires on September 30. RIGHT TO REPAIR MAKES HEADWAY Consumers may soon have more choice over where to take products, from vehicles to smartphones, to be repaired following a new Biden Administration executive order intended to promote right-to-repair protections. In a broad-ranging executive order aimed at increasing competition in the marketplace, President Biden has asked the Federal Trade Commission to draft regulations that would prevent manufacturers from stipulating that these and other devices can be repaired only by authorized personnel. Tucked into the executive order that covered 72 initiatives to promote competition in the U.S. economy, Biden specifically asked the FTC to crack down on “unfair anticompetitive restrictions on third-party repair or self-repair of items.” The new directive to the FTC comes a couple of months after the commission delivered a 54-page report to Congress that concluded
“there is scant evidence to support manufacturers’ justifications for repair restrictions.” The order is a significant win for the right to repair advocates who have long championed a consumer’s choice to have their technology fixed either by third parties or on their own, rather than solely by the manufacturer. Right to repair argues that anyone should have access to the OEM parts, manuals, and software needed to perform those repairs. MIC ‘RIDE WITH US’ INITIATIVE AIMS TO GET “NEW RIDERS, RIDING MORE” “Ride With Us” -- the powersports industry’s multifaceted market expansion program -- has been officially launched by the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC). “In late 2019 at MIC’s Communication Symposium, we shared the MIC’s vision for growing ridership – more riders, riding more,” said Paul Vitrano, chairman of the MIC Board of Directors and senior vice president/ senior assistant general counsel of Polaris, in the announcement. “We were excited to begin operationalizing the plan in early 2020, but the pandemic caused us to pause and refocus our efforts on helping powersports businesses remain open.” “While we were navigating the coronavirus, we also were working hard to prepare for the post-pandemic environment,” said Erik Pritchard, president and CEO of the MIC. “Our preparation included a number of initiatives tied to each phase of the new rider journey -- Inspire, Explore, Engage, and Integrate -- as well supporting new-rider education initiatives.” The MIC is leading a task force composed of industry-leading marketing talent to help develop the program. As a part of the ‘Ride With Us’ program, the MIC is also delivering new 45-minute first-ride experiences for people who have never ridden a motorcycle before. “Our industry has needed a unifying market expansion effort targeting potential and returning riders, and the MIC is delivering it with Ride With Us,” said Vitrano. “We urge all industry stakeholders to rally around this initiative as it rolls out to support people at every stage of their journey to becoming a lifelong rider.” EMISSION-FREE MOTORCYCLES PLAY KEY ROLE IN U.K. TRANSPORTATION PLAN The British government plans to ban the sale of gasoline-powered motorcycles, and from 2035 all new motorcycles must be zero emission, with powered two-wheelers (PTW) set to play a key role in a new Government Transport Decarbonisation Plan following years of behind the scenes campaigning from the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA). The Department for Transport announced the radical new plan earlier this month, which pledges to end the sale of all new, non-zero emission road vehicles by 2040 at the latest, as well as phasing out the sale of all new non-zero emission heavy goods vehicles in that timeframe. The 220-page DfT plan states that the government will "consult this year on a phase out date of 2035, or earlier if a faster transition appears feasible, for the sale of new non-zero emission powered two and three wheelers." Unlike in some previous transport announcements, motorcycles and scooters have been considered from the outset, thanks to consultations between the MCIA and government ministers spanning the past three years.
14 ThunderRoadsTennessee.com 14 ThunderRoadsTennessee.com AUGUST 2021
"Motorcycles, scooters and other forms of Powered Light Vehicles will play a key role and we are extremely happy this has now been recognized," said MCIA chief executive Tony Campbell, adding that "Only a fool would think that the motorcycling sector could be treated separately from everything else going on in the world." U.S. AND E.U. LEADERS REACH TRUCE IN RETALIATORY TARIFFS WAR The current European and U.S. trade dispute dates back to 2004 when both parties accused one another of unfairly subsidizing aircraft giants Boeing and Airbus. In 2018, the World Trade Organization declared both sides guilty, allowing the U.S. to implement $7.5 billion in tariffs and the E.U. to retaliate with $4 billion in duties. Over the years, the retributive approach on both sides extended the tariffs beyond the aircraft manufacturers, and from French wine to American whiskey to Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the tax rates ballooned. In 2018, the dispute intensified into an all-out trade war when former President Donald Trump imposed new steel and aluminum tariffs on several NATO allies. That decision spurred the E.U. to hit back with a series of tax hikes that would have levied a 56-percent tariff on American motorcycles over 500cc. Luckily, the E.U. relented, delaying the measures until December, 2021. However, that didn’t solve the impending trade crisis for brands like Harley-Davidson. At the European Union-United States Summit in Brussels, Belgium, on June 15, 2021, U.S. President Joe Biden and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reached a truce in the 17-year BoeingAirbus spat. The agreement will go into effect on July 11, 2021, and will suspend the tariffs for the next five years. The truce not only mends trans-Atlantic trade relations, but also lays the groundwork for both parties to unite against a common threat in the aircraft industry: China, a major threat due to its overproduction of steel and aluminum. MORE COUNTRIES BANNING GAS-POWERED MOTORCYCLES It seems that more and more nations are beginning to adopt a policy of allowing only brand new electric-powered vehicles to be sold in their jurisdictions in the near future, and now Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest motorcycle market with more than 112-million motorcycles on its
busy streets, has declared that no more new internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles should be sold in the country by 2050. Singapore also adopted a similar policy by banning motorcycles they consider “old” from their streets by 2028. India, as well as some European nations, had already enacted similar measures earlier. Now, Canada is the newest country that’s taking on drastic measures to significantly cut greenhouse gas emissions. In a recent announcement from the Canadian government agency, Transport Canada (TC), they are accelerating the complete eradication of ICE-powered vehicles by outlawing them by 2035 -- which is 5-years earlier than the original 2040 plan. “Today, we take another important step on the road to net zero by accelerating our zero-emission vehicle targets to 2035,” said Seamus O’Regan Jr., the Canadian minister of natural resources. “Achieving this target will require all Canadians, and businesses big and small, to embrace the change and go electric.” Like other countries initiating combustion vehicle sales bans, the plan is to end new vehicle sales, and does not mention plans for older vehicles. Most such plans rely on older vehicles eventually phasing themselves out as they become impractical to repair and own over time. EASYRIDERS ON THE COMEBACK TRAIL Easyriders magazine was known as the “biker’s bible” for over 50 years, before ceasing production in 2019, but now Classic Easyriders will kickstart a new era beginning this December, drawing on its rich heritage as an integral part of the biker lifestyle. "Our industry needs a paper magazine as well as a digital presence now more than ever before, to capture and promote the American motorcycle culture,” says editor-in-chief Dave Nichols. While there will be no nudity as in the original Easyriders, Classic Easyriders (www.ClassicEasyriders.com) will bring readers the look and feel of biker magazines of the 1970s and ’80s, with fresh new choppers, bobbers, classic motorcycles and the latest builds by today’s top builders. The monthly magazine will also include interviews with biker legends and showcase motorcycle-related parts, products and accessories. TENNESSEE MOTORCYCLES AND MUSIC
By Scott High
I
n early 2017, we started hearing about a new rally coming to Tennessee. We met with the organizers and immediately knew this rally was going to be big. The first year in the fall of 2017 the attendance was good and when the rally was over we knew it was just going to get bigger. 2018 and 2019 were also in the fall and both years were bigger, 2019 was probably even double the first year. For 2020 everyone was on lockdown or some type of restriction so there was no rally and the organizers decided that the off year was a good time to move the dates to the spring.
There are a lot of rallies in the fall so the decision to move the dates to the weekend before the Memorial Day weekend was an easy one, and a good one. The event started on Thursday May 20th and ran through Sunday the 23rd, and over those 4 days, well over 13,000 people passed through the gates. Way more than double 2019. With the laid back atmosphere provided in part by being on Loretta Lynn’s Ranch in Hurricane Mills TN, mixed with good ole southern hospitality, it’s hard to not have a good time. Everything about this year’s TMMR was better, let’s call it “more polished.” The organizers had already put on three great events, and they had 19 months to get ready for 2021! As the name

implies, the music is almost nonstop. There are 3 music venues, The Speed Shack is a live music bar located right next to the flat track racing (more on that later), The Waterin’ Hole is a live music bar located on the banks of Hurricane Creek next to Bill Dodge’s BC Moto Invitational, a showcase of some of the nation’s top builders. The third, and largest music venue is Loretta’s Road House which is a huge pavilion located right in the center of the action as it should be. The Speed Shack usually fires up in the morning and features some of the best up and coming singer/songwriters Nashville has to offer and a few established artist and bands and goes until late afternoon. The Waterin’ hole also starts the music early, but it keeps on going until about 3am. We can neither confirm nor deny that we may have stood around the campfire by the Waterin’ Hole a couple of nights between about 1 to 3am singing CONTINUED ...

along and probably talking really loud to people who were probably talking really loud back to us. We’ll just say a good time was had by all! Loretta’s Roadhouse is where the concerts happen. Two acts have performed at every TMMR so far, they are the band Stone Senate, and Tim Montana, who you’ll probably see running around having fun all weekend. This year’s Headliner was Billy Gibbons and the BFG’s. They performed some of their original music which I really like, but Billy didn’t disappoint and also mixed in a lot of our ZZ Top favorites! Then there were the motorcycles. As the event was presented by Harley-Davidson Surrounding Area Dealers, Harley-Davidson was on hand with two of their Demo trucks full of bikes, including (if I’m not mistaken for the first time publicly) the all new Pan American. The guys running the demos said the hardest thing they had to do was keep gas in the new adventure touring bikes. As we mentioned earlier Flat Track Racing was happening almost all weekend. FIST City Flat Track brought their show to the ranch and the racing was spectacular. There is a lot of great riding around the ranch, lots of great riding roads, beautiful scenery,
history, and destinations to visit. This year you could even bring off road bikes and explore the miles and miles of trails that have hosted GNCC races and scrambles through the years. And let’s not forget bike shows. Thursday there was an Antique Motorcycle exhibit, Friday we sponsored the Thunder Roads TN Bike Show in support of Bikers Who Care. It’s a ride in show and we had a great turn out. Saturday was a stop on the V-Twin Visionary Performance Motorcycle Show Series. It was a really great rally and we think it will only get bigger. Watch these pages for information on next year’s event and come hang out with us, you won’t be sorry!

Gypsy and Axe are sitting around watching a rerun of Rachel Ray when Axe says, “how come you’re always watching these cooking shows but when it comes to cooking you really don’t throw down so good at all?” Gypsy looks over at Axe and very calmly replies, ‘how come you’re always watching those porn shows but when it comes time for action you really don’t go down so good at all?” -------------------------------------------------------------My dog Brute was laying in the living room, doing his daily grooming and licking his balls. My buddy from work had stopped by for the first time to hang for a bit and he declared, “Man, I wish the hell I could do that!” I quickly relayed to him, “You might want to pet him first, he can be flat out mean.” -------------------------------------------------------------So Gypsy and Axe are once again sitting around and watching Survivor on t.v. Gypsy gets all upset and declares “Ya’ know they always make it out on these shows like women are so dainty and helpless. Let me tell you something Axe, a woman can do Anything that a man can do! Axe calmly looks over at Gypsy and says, “Well, let’s wait and see if come bedtime she pisses on the campfire to put it out.” -------------------------------------------------------------Scientists have proven that the brain is the most outstanding organ in our entire body. It virtually works 24 hours, 365 days, from the exact moment of birth up until your first erection. -------------------------------------------------------------Bubba and Butch are sitting on the tailgate of Bubba’s ole’ Chevy and Butch is looking all down and out. Bubba says, “Look man, it was good for a while and then it wasn’t. There’s always something good you can take away from any break up, right?” Butch says, “Yeah, I reckon. She did say that even though we broke up it wouldn’t change the fact that we’ll always be first cousins.” -------------------------------------------------------------Yet again Gypsy is in the living room and literally screaming at the t.v. “No, do not go in the church you stupid bitch, don’t do it!! Axe walks in the back door of the kitchen to grab a beer and hears Gypsy yelling with such passion. He walks in the living room and asks, “You watching the massacre scene of “Kill Bill” ? Gypsy says, “No, I’m watching our wedding video.”
I don’t know who needs to hear this, women and men too, but your eyebrows should Not be the size of KFC potato wedges! Sakes alive, trim them dang thangs. --------------------------------------------------------------Squirrel and his wife, Sunshine, are talking with the Mortician and debating about burial verses cremation for Sunshine’s great Aunt. Sunshine was obviously upset because her great Aunt was a favorite relative and visited several times a month as she loved playing board games. Squirrel suddenly jumps up and says all excited, “I have the perfect solution....we’ll cremate her and have her ashes put into a large hourglass and that way she can still be included in Family Game Night! --------------------------------------------------------------A baby’s laughter is one of the most beautiful sounds you will ever hear. Unless it’s 3 AM, you’re home alone, and you do not have a baby. -------------------------------------------------------------Me (texting Boss) - Hey, are we still on for today? Boss texting back - Yes. You don’t need to text me this every morning. We are still “on” for work every day except Sunday. --------------------------------------------------------------Jack-Hammer calls the police and says, “ I need help, I kinda’ think my wife might be dead.” The officer at the desk asks, “Why would you think that sir?” “I aint exactly sure. The sex is about the same, but the dishes are piling up like crazy in the dang sink!” --------------------------------------------------------------I was buying summer squash at the local Farmer’s Market and saw an obvious Grandma with her little grandchild. The child was walking quite a bit faster than the woman and she yelled out loud, “Degree, you wait up for Grandma now!” That name was so unique that I caught up with the Grandma and grandchild and asked respectfully, “Excuse me Ma’am, I couldn’t help but hear you call your grandchild Degree and it’s just so unique was wondering if it was a family name passed down or something of that nature?” She woman threw back her head and laughed and said, “No, nothing fancy like that. My husband and I saved for years to send our daughter to the finest college around and about a year later this is what she brought home.”
