ALL IS HERE, and the days of riding throughout the
long evenings are going to soon be lost. With the season change, comes new conditions for motorcycle riders to deal with. The weather is notoriously known for mocking us with random blasts of heat in the Fall, but in reality, the trees are losing their leaves, temperatures are on the decline and daylight is dwindling away. There are a few tips for motorcycle riding in Fall to keep in mind before getting out for those last rides of 2018. Bundle up - the cool, crisp air is very exhilarating during the Fall. Temperatures are much more enjoyable to ride in compared to the heatwaves that occur in the Summer time. This is the time of year when leather truly is your best friend. Leather protects you from the wind and will keep you comfortably warm while riding. Watch out for falling and wet leaves yes the leaves are full of color and look beautiful in the Fall season, but they are hazardous to riders once they start to fall to the ground, and potentially very dangerous. Watch out for wildlife - deer are known to be more active in the Fall, whether they are searching for food, chasing the female of the species, or running away from hunting pressure pushing them into new areas. Beware of frosty roads - regardless of how warm the day temperatures can get, the mornings can provide some frosty conditions. Even the thinnest layer of frost can result in a loss of traction. Try to stay in the middle of the road since more frost will collect around the edges, and preferably ride in car-tire tracks. Enjoying the Fall on a motorcycle isn’t just about keeping warm and safe, but it’s also about the cool stuff you can do that you can’t do during any other time of the year. The falling leaves bring with them a host of events that only happen in Fall. Thanks to the unique scenery of the season, getting there could be half the fun if you take your motorcycle. Check the events page in this issue for some awesome events you could attend as well as our Fall Motorcycle Riding Destinations. Maybe there’s a big Oktoberfest you could check out with your riding friends (as long as you don’t drink and ride) or perhaps you and your other half could make a day trip out of some sort of harvest festival. State and national parks sometimes have events going on in Fall that could be cool to check out on two wheels. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I think we all know someone that has lost the battle, is fighting the battle, or won the battle. That’s why it’s so important that all you ladies get those yearly mammograms. It’s also Fire Prevention Month so be sure and change the batteries in your smoke detectors! Summer coming to a close is far from meaning the end of riding season. Bundle up, watch out for deer, and enjoy the season. Have a safe and spooktacular Halloween! Ride Hard Live Free Denise & Scott

“THE KILLING SPIRIT” John 10:10 “The thief cometh but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” This is another scripture that most Christians don’t understand the significance of; they just quote it like a slogan on an athlete’s locker room wall. Satan is very much real and has but one desire; to kill God’s people. He wants to kill your body, your blessings from God, your good name, your finances, your family relations, your future, and your marriage. If he can’t kill them, then he’ll steal them, if he can’t steal them, then he’ll try to destroy them. This spirit first tries to get you into depression, then it moves you into hurting yourself with drugs, alcohol, then cutting, and finally suicide. Don’t play with this spirit, even if it is just for attention, the deeper you go, the closer you get. Gen. 3:21 after Adam & Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, God was looking for them and they hid from God because sin had revealed their nakedness; “Unto Adam and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins and clothed them.” Here we see the first blood sacrifice to cover up sin. Gen.4:1-10 Adam & Eve had two sons, Cain & Able. “Able was a keeper of the sheep and Cain was a tiller of the ground.” Both sons were taught by their parents and God how to deal with this sin issue. “And in the process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground, an offering unto the Lord. And Able brought of the firstlings of his flock. And the Lord had respect unto Able and to his offering. But unto Cain, He had not respect.” This is the first sign of religion, I call Cain the father of religion. Religion wants to give God what it wants to give, the works of its own hands. The fruit of the ground, Cain’s offering had no blood in it, Able’s offering did. Eph.2:8 “For by Grace are ye saved through faith; and not that of yourselves.” Gen.4:5 “And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.” Gen.4:8 “And Cain talked with Able when they were in the field, that Cain rose up and killed his brother Able.” I couldn’t help but notice that both of them were October 2018
in Cain’s territory “the field.” Able had done nothing wrong to Cain, but to come over to talk with him. Have you ever noticed that as faithful believers, we always have some people that just hate us! It doesn’t matter how nice you are to them, bail them out from time to time and they still hate you. When you have developed a relationship with Jesus Christ and God has respect for your offerings, to be “accepted in the beloved,” will always create conflicts with the religious Cain’s of this world. With Able coming into Cain’s field and being killed by Cain, symbolizing Jesus coming into our world and it was religion that killed Christ not the Roman soldiers. Until next time, keep your face in the wind and your kickstand up. To be found faithful, Pastor Ron

INDOOR GUN RANGE ETIQUETTE By Scott High
E
very fall when the temperature starts to drop we start to do more things inside, and if you’ve been shooting outside at a controlled range, or at a safe place in the woods, you might want to go to an indoor range like the Bob Munden Indoor Range at Tennessee Gun Country to practice during the cold months. Every fall we like to bring up the subject of indoor shooting on our Bullet Points page and share some of the safety rules and etiquette that go along with it. We’ll go over the basic rules that apply to most indoor ranges, but where ever you go to shoot, always know the rules specific to that range and abide by them. The rules are there to keep everyone safe and make range time fun for all. These are basic general safety rules that apply at most indoor ranges but if you’ve been shooting in the woods all summer, it’s a good idea to review. Always keep your firearm pointed down range, even if it’s empty; if you bring your gun in a bag or case, turn the bag or case so that when you take the firearm out it’s pointing downrange. If you rent a firearm, make sure the slide is locked back or the cylinder open when you return it to the counter so everyone can see at a glance that it’s unloaded and safe. Never leave your gun unattended. Always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. These seem basic, but you may have developed bad habits if you haven’t been shooting inside or around other people. Keep your firearm unloaded until you are ready to shoot, and wear eye and ear protection anytime you are in the range facility. Keep your firearms unloaded and in a closed container or holster when entering or exiting the range facility. Never load or handle your firearm if you aren’t in your shooting lane. Shoot in your assigned lane and only shoot at the target in your lane. When you put your target on the hanger, hang it at eye level so you aren’t shooting up or down. Do not reach past the firing line for any reason. If you drop your target or brass or anything at all, ask the range staff for help. Never hand a loaded firearm to another person. Clear the gun, make it safe and set it on the counter to let the other person pick it up, load it, and begin shooting. Always check the policy at your range before shooting shotguns or rifles. Some allow rifles up to a certain caliber, and some allow shotguns with ammunition restrictions. Most ranges also have ammunition restrictions for all guns, steel core/green tip, incendiary, tracer, or armor piercing ammunition are usually not allowed. Most indoor ranges do not allow muzzleloader rifles of any kind. Never bring food, drinks or tobacco of ANY kind on the range. This will lessen the chance of ingesting lead residue. Always wash your hands immediately after shooting to remove any lead dust or primer residue. Leave your booth clean and uncluttered, and sweep up all of your brass and dump it into the bucket for spent
October 2018
brass. When leaving the range area for any reason, unload your firearm at the shooting position and case it. The call “CEASE FIRE” means to stop shooting immediately. Any shooter can call “CEASE FIRE” if they witness an unsafe act or there is a problem requiring all shooters to stop firing. Never allow unattended children on the range. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. If you are unable to clear a malfunction, leave the firearm in the booth and notify the range personnel. Never fire from the prone position. The angle will have you shooting at the baffles on the ceiling. Some ranges allow full auto firing with prior permission. As stated earlier, these are general rules, and each range has its own specific rules. Make sure you learn them before you enter the range. It makes shooting a safer and more enjoyable experience for all involved. Just because it’s getting colder doesn’t mean you have to stop practicing, so be safe and keep shooting.

ost of the big national rallies like Sturgis, Daytona, Laconia, and others started as gatherings to watch races. Grassroots racing is in the middle of a resurgence and getting more popular every year with bigger crowds and more racers. This year, instead of the standalone hillclimb race usually held at the Buffalo Valley Dragway, Gary Bagwell and his crew had an entire weekend of racing. AMA Flat Track racing Friday night at the Putnam County Fairgrounds, AMA Pro Hillclimb at the Buffalo Valley Hillclimb on Saturday, and AMA Amateur Hillclimb State Championship and NE Amateur Signature Series racing on Sunday. The Flat Track racing that started it off on Friday was great! Now is a good time to tell you about the true spirit of grassroots racing, Pat Bedford, promoter of The Celebration of Speed in Shelbyville brought a couple of bikes to the track to race, and he raced them well, he also volunteered to hop on the tractor and help get the track ready and could be seen during breaks in the racing back out on the tractor keeping the track in great shape. Gary and Candi Bagwell also went to Pat’s Celebration of Speed and helped out with Pat’s races. Walking around the pits you see it too, racers who will be fierce competitors when they line up at the start helping each other prepare their bikes or loaning each other parts,

or sometimes whole bikes to a competitor. There was a full field for the flat track races in all of the different classes Boswell’s H-D, Smoky Mountain H-D, and Bumpus H-D of Murfreesboro were all represented in the crowd favorite Hooligan class. Hooligan racing is a run what you brung street bike class and is very popular all across the country, many of the Hooligan racers had recently raced at the X-Games and at the HarleyDavidson 115th Anniversary Celebration. Saturday the AMA Pro Hillclimb was held in Buffalo Valley. The smell of nitromethane and the roar of the purpose built race engines spinning paddled, studded or chained tires pushing the pro bikes up the hill is all part of the experience, I love the sights sounds and smells of racing. Sunday it was the amateurs turn to race up the hill. There was a huge field of racers, the largest in the valley so far. Some of the hillclimb racers raced flat track, and some of the flat track racers stayed around for the hillclimb. They even had an exhibition race with some of the Hooligan flat track racers riding their street bikes up part of the hill. Crowd favorite Danny Baird of Michigan, a quadriplegic who straps his feet to the pegs, his waist to the seat and has a cage around his legs, pinned the throttle and finished second in the open stock wheelbase class which put him in 1st place in the AMA Amateur Northeastern Hillclimb Challenge, and for the second year in a row Cookeville native Andy Street was crowned King of the Hill with fastest time up the hill. Last month the American Motorcyclist Association announced, the AMA Hillclimb Grand Championship’s move to Tennessee in 2019. Set for July 26-28, the race for the top will take place in Buffalo Valley at Middle Tennessee Dragway. Get out a watch some of these local grassroots motorcycle races, you’ll thank us later.

2019 HARLEY-DAVIDSON MODEL RELEASE
E
BY SCOTT HIGH
VERY YEAR near the end of summer, Harley-Davidson introduces new models and colors to the public. We went to the 2019 model year release party at Bumpus HarleyDavidson of Murfreesboro to see them in person, they had 47 new 2019 bikes for us to see. There was only 1 totally new model released for 2019, the FXDR 114. The radical (for an HD) FXDR 114 is powered by the same 114 cubic inch motor that pushes the almost 250 pound heavier 2019 Ultra Limited down the road at a respectable rate, so in the lighter nimbler FXDR 114 it becomes more of a beast. The FXDR 114 comes with a huge rear tire, an inverted cartridge fork and a superlight alloy swingarm that along with a very different rake and trail and more lean angle than the typical HD cruiser makes it a blast to ride. It’s a power cruiser that turns. There are upgrades for the existing bikes in the lineup too, the 114 motor we mentioned which is the same motor from the 2017 CVO lineup, is now standard on the 2019 FXDR 114, Ultra Limited and Limited Low, Road Glide Ultra, Road King Special, Road Glide Special, Street Glide Special, and both trikes. The 114 is also available on the Fat Bob, Fat Boy, Heritage, and Breakout. The other big upgrade for the touring bikes is the new Boom Box GTS Infotainment System. The first thing you notice is the soft buttons are gone replaced by an all gorilla glass screen with smartphone type buttons in the screen where the soft buttons used to be. Harley says the GTS has a faster processor and more memory and it starts up in less than half the time of the old Boom Box 6.5 GT it replaced, it now uses
October 2018
smartphone gestures like pinch to zoom and swipe to change screens. The display is much improved with higher resolution and higher contrast. The interface is a lot simpler and more user friendly and most of the functions you use every day are easier to navigate, for example the home screen now only has 3 main icons, music, navigation, and phone. It has Apple Carplay included if you have an iPhone, and I for one hope they include Android Auto in the future. The navigation system is faster too and the higher contrast display is easier to see and the sun doesn’t wash it out like could sometimes happen with the old unit. There are lots of new colors available for 2019, some are really good, and some are not for me but that’s why the make chocolate and vanilla. Obviously Harley has made some major changes in the last few years with the all new Milwaukee 8 motor in 2017 and 12 new Softail models in 2018, so there weren’t a lot of big changes for 19, but they have already announced a few of the totally new bikes they are bringing out over the next few years. When I asked Tom Bumpus, of Bumpus Harley-Davidson of Murfreesboro, besides the new FXDR 114, the 114 motor standard in more bikes, and the upgraded Boom Box, what did he see or hear at the dealer meeting that really got him excited? He said every person he talked to from the Motor Company is genuinely excited about what’s coming in the future!

BRUSHY MTN. STATE PEN By Indian Rider Bill What do you think about a prison? He asked. I think we should stay out of one, was his business partner’s reply. A brief conversation between two motorcyclist enthusiasts and media entrepreneurs put them up to their necks in a prison, and within a few short years the renaissance of Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary had begun. Brushy, in Morgan County, TN as it’s called for short, opened in 1896. The prison was carved out of a steep, mountainous ravine and used the sheer rock bluff as its northern security wall. The original wooden prison was rebuilt in 1920 of locally obtained stone and today looks like what a maximum security prison should look like-rougher and harder than the worst inmates it once housed. Although the terrain and formidable walls and chain link fence topped with barbed wire discouraged escape, its most famous inmate, James Earl Ray, along with six others, managed to scale a fence and flee into the countryside only to give up after 50 hours of their new found freedom. In 2009, the prison ceased operations as a prison, ending its 113 year old history as such. After a few years of legislative legalese, countless meetings with state and local leaders and concerned citizens, the transformation from a maximum security prison to a tourist destination got underway and in August of 2018, the prison opened its doors to the public. After passing by the looming guard tower, at the main entrance of the prison off of County Road 116, In Petros, TN, the full grandeur of the facility comes into view. The main cell block, capable of holding up to 1,200 inmates at one time, is dead ahead ominously welcoming you to “the end of the line”. What once was the super maximum isolation cell block, is off to its left with other facilities (infirmary, power plant, guard quarters and so forth dotted around the property). Today, however, the property consists of a functioning moonshine distillery, an extensive museum filled with inmate ledgers, personal effects, uniforms, chains, shackles, and countless pictures of the prison and its inhabitants. A separate event center, (on-site catering available), capable of hosting large groups for meetings, reunions etc. The main prison yard, still under watch from the massive rock bluffs and guard towers, has been converted into a high tech music venue that can accommodate up to five thousand people. The welcome center is the first stop for incoming visitors. The center houses The Wardens Table, a 120 seat restaurant serving some of the finest prison grub in Morgan County. Adjacent to the restaurant, is a massive four thousand square feet gift shop. Here you’ll also find Moonshine tasting (10 incredible flavors), End of The Line Moonshine sales and prison tour registration. There are two types of tours for visitors. The cellblock tour, often led by a former inmate or prison guard, and the paranormal tour. The paranormal tours consist of a three or six hour night tour. Both of which are led by professional Ghost Hunters that take participants deep into the prison beyond the boundaries of the general cellblock tour. These tours employ the latest equipment to detect radical temperature fluctuations, faint ghostly murmurs and unsolicited movement. As you can imagine, these tours are in high demand and require advance registration. Future expansion is just as bold as the original vision. Primitive camping, RV sites, walking trails, paved parking to accommodate car and motorcycle events, festival grounds, “rent a room” hostel and much, much more. DODGING THE ROADKILL
TO RIDE OR NOT TO RIDE
By: Hank Bonecutter From the very beginning of this journey, the first thing I noticed is how much attention a biker gets. Whether sitting at a stop light, pulling into a gas station, or just “throttling” down the highway, EVERYBODY takes notice. There’s a mystique, a fantasy, an image that most people get when they see a biker, and deep down inside, they want to be that guy. As I travel the country, and meet other bikers, I hear different reasons for why they ride. Each and every one of them though has that “passion” for the lifestyle and the thrill of the ride that pumps the body full of adrenaline. “Been riding all my life!” they say. “My father was a biker and he introduced me to it” they say. “It’s all I know” they say. But what about those who want to, but don’t? Those who have, but quit. Not a day goes by that I don’t meet somebody who says, “I used to ride, but it got too dangerous.” Or, “I would love to own a motorcycle, but I have two small children.” Or my favorite, “My wife won’t let me.” Now I’m not making fun of any of those people. Quite the contrary. I’m curious about why, if you really want to do something, why don’t you do it? We all know that riding a motorcycle takes a certain set of skills, and it’s dangerous. We realize that. I tried to get my pilot’s license several years ago. I soloed and was ready to take my check ride. Then one day, I was flying and I got lost. The visibility was bad, and I wasn’t instrument rated, so I really didn’t know where I was, or where the airport was. October 2018
So, I dropped below 1,000 ft, and found the interstate that runs right by the airfield, found the runway, and landed. That was the last time I flew. I did it, but I didn’t belong up there. That was the end of that. I met a young man the other day who told me he used to ride. Had a BMW. “But I had too many close calls” he said. Understood. That’s how I felt about being a pilot. I never thought I would find myself in this lifestyle at this stage of my life. I say it all the time. But once I strapped myself around my bike and took off, I have NEVER had such a rush. I studied all the factors around owning a motorcycle. I test rode bikes for several months. I took all the safety courses. I counseled with close friends. I decided this was something I wanted to do, and here we are. It’s not for everyone, but if you want something in your life, what’s holding you back? It doesn’t have to be a motorcycle, but what is it? What do you fantasize about? What would you really want to do? It could be flying, fishing, skiing, hiking, or whatever. If you want to live your life without reservation and fear, you have to face it head on and be determined that NOTHING will get in the way. Fear holds you back. Fear paralyses people. Having a healthy respect for your circumstances is strong. I respect everyone who’s scared of motorcycles. I respect everyone who wishes they could ride, but don’t. But don’t fool yourself and keep making excuses for why you don’t live your life to the fullest. I did that for most of my life. If my life ends on the back of my Harley, then so be it. I’m not in control anyway. Ride safe my friends, and thanks for following my journey.

FEDERAL AGENCY SEEKS ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ON NEW MOTORCYCLES IN THE U.S. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has recommended that all new motorcycles built for road use in the U.S. have anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control as standard equipment. The federal safety agency says that ABS has been required on passenger cars since 2000, and electronic stability control has been required since the 2012 model year, but the technology has lagged for motorcycles and requiring it would save lives. The NTSB voted unanimously 5-0 during their September 11 open board meeting to make the recommendations to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), which has authority to impose regulations. NTSB Chairman Robert Sumwalt said that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) determined that anti-lock brakes could reduce motorcycle fatalities by 31%. “That is a sizeable safety benefit that the U.S. is leaving on the table, leaving on the pavement, actually,” he told the Associated Press (AP). Eric Emery, the NTSB’s Safety Research Division chief, said antilock brakes would allow riders to use maximum braking force without fear of the wheels locking up and skidding, improving the chances of keeping control of bikes in an emergency. Anti-lock brakes are currently standard on 8.9% of U.S. motorcycles and are optional on 13.3%. Anti-lock brakes were required in Europe starting in 2016 on motorcycles with engines larger than 125 CC, agency officials said. Other countries are discussing or requiring it, including Australia, Japan, China and Brazil. NTSB ISSUES NEW RECOMMENDATIONS TO "IMPROVE MOTORCYCLE SAFETY" Safety issues surrounding the causes of motorcycle crashes, and the prevention of crashes through better integration of motorcycles in crash warning and prevention systems and the use of advanced braking and stability control systems, were the subject of a National Transportation Safety Board meeting conducted Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018 in Washington, D.C. During the public hearing, staff from the Office of Research and Engineering and the Office of Highway Safety presented findings and recommendations from the "2016 Motorcycle Crash Causation Study" on select risk factors associated with the causes of motorcycle crashes, which were adopted unanimously by the five-member board. Among 10 recommendations included in the report, "Select Risk Factors Associated with Causes of Motorcycle Crashes," are calls for all new on-road motorcycles sold in the United States to be equipped with antilock braking systems and that the federal government establish performance standards for electronic stability control on motorcycles sold in the U.S. 30
Additionally, the report recommends that motorcycles be fully incorporated in the development of technology for onboard crash prevention and vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-toinfrastructure systems. It also calls for further study and strategies regarding alcohol and drug use on rider crash risk, and to evaluate the effectiveness of motorcycle licensing procedures. The NTSB does not typically investigate motorcycle crashes, but it conducted a motorcycle safety forum in 2006 and issued recommendations as a result. It has been more than 10 years since the NTSB has issued new recommendations "to help reduce motorcycle crashes and improve safety." ENDING CARB The Trump Administration has announced plans to revoke a special waiver that currently allows California to regulate vehicle tailpipe emissions differently than what the federal government mandates, which would eliminate California’s more stringent greenhouse gas standards imposed under CARB (California Air Resources Board). CARB’s stricter smog standards have been adopted in thirteen states and the District of Columbia, representing nearly 40% of the nation’s new vehicle sales.
SIKH HELMET EXEMPTION GRANTED IN ONTARIO ON RELIGIOUS GROUNDS This winter, Ontario's Ministry of Transportation says Sikh riders will be exempt from the province's mandatory motorcycle helmet law due to the wearing of turbans. The possibility of an exemption has been a contentious topic for years throughout Canada, with some arguing that it would pose a safety risk, but now Premier Doug Ford says he will make the change in recognition of Sikh motorcycle riders' civil rights and religious expression. The change, if it goes forward, will see the province of Ontario fall in line with Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba, where exemptions are already in place. Helmet exemptions in other provinces have also proven to be controversial, with safety being a sticking point for some. In Alberta, the exemption went into effect April 12, and the insurance industry is taking a wait-and-see approach to the exemption, with insurance providers unsure if the new risks would translate to higher insurance premiums for Albertans. EUROPEAN MOTORCYCLE SALES ON THE RISE As a tariff-burdened American motorcycle industry struggles, the European market boasted a 7.2% growth in nearly all its twowheeled sectors in the first half of this year. In an industry that supports 156,000 employees throughout Europe, it’s good news that the overall two-wheeled sector continues to gain traction. Within the first 6 months of 2018, new motorcycle ownership across Europe increased by almost 42,000 over the same period in 2017-- from 526,889 to 564,851.

Antonio Perlot, Secretary General of the European motorcycle industry association ACEM, said: “Our latest registration figures for the EU show, once again, the importance of two- and threewheeled vehicles as a solution to the mobility needs of people, particularly in large urban areas that suffer from congestion problems." "The latest increase in sales, particularly in the motorcycle segment, is a very positive development. Newer and more environmentally friendly vehicles are being added to the European vehicle fleet, which according to our estimations is now close to 36 million units."
over -- leaning the bike farther, reducing engine torque, applying some rear brake, etc. So why are BMW and other bike firms working on smart, autonomous, self-riding ‘robot bikes’? Because self-driving cars and smart highways are coming -- sooner than you think, and whether we like it or not -- and there’s currently little regard being paid to the needs of motorcycling, and how it will fit into the infrastructure of the future; so if the manufacturers don’t provide an answer to ‘how will bikes become safer and work with other autonomous vehicles’, no-one else will.
SELF-RIDING MOTORCYCLES BEING DEVELOPED BMW Motorrad recently demonstrated a completely autonomous motorcycle at their testing facility in the south of France, when an R-1200 GS independently drove off, accelerated, circled a winding test track and automatically slowed down to a stop, dropping neatly onto its kickstand. BMW says it is "by no means aiming for a completely independent motorbike," but the technology is being developed to further improve safety systems, especially those around riding dynamics - how a bike behaves in certain situations on the road and how it can help the rider in an emergency situation,” according to a Motorrad spokesperson. The autonomous bike is also a testbed for V2V (Vehicle-toVehicle) communication and digital networking. So in the future, when your Smart Bike is plugged into the sensors and networked information sources that will be here soon, it will be able to step in and prevent a much wider range of accidents…with data from a self-driving car in a blind turn ahead of you, your bike will ‘know’ that a possible impact is ahead and warn you to take action. Plus, a very advanced set of safety algorithms may be able to step in when riders make errors of their own -- like panicbraking mid-curve or not leaning over enough to get round a tight corner. If your bike knows exactly where it is, what’s around it, and what it’s doing, it can predict a situation and take
FEMALE BIKERS UNITE IN WORLDWIDE RELAY As the name implies, the Women Riders World Relay aims to unite lady bikers with one aim; passing a baton around the world on two wheels, across even the most remote of locations. WRWR, as it’s now known, was formed at the end of August by Hayley Bell from Warrington, England, in an attempt to wake the motorcycling industry up to the sheer number of female riders on the road. “I want to unite women riders globally, do something that’s never been done before, and to show the industry the force behind the market that is so blindly overlooked,” the 27-year old said. Hayley set up the WRWR Facebook page just weeks ago and has already gathered more than 5,700 members, from as far afield as Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa. Australia is by far the most heavily represented country on the page, followed by the U.K. Hayley aims to have got at least 17,000 women bikers on board by December 2018, with a plan to launch the world relay in Spring 2019.

Dear Fellow Veterans and Patriots of Tennessee: To continue my thoughts and recollections of 50 years ago when I was boots on the ground in Vietnam… I feel compelled to connect the world of 50 years ago and the world of today. In a few short weeks the states of America will have the most important series of elections since President Donald Trump was elected two years ago. In case you hadn’t noticed there has been a major and purposeful coup underway since Barack Obama was elected. It is well supported by leftist communist Democrats and several left leaning socialist Republicans. Their goal is to move the United States away from the U.S. Constitution and the capitalist system that has made our country the greatest in world history and institute a restrictive socialist government based on a rewritten U.S. Constitution. They want to replace entrepreneur endeavors with a Government regulated and controlled economy. They have been using liberals on the Supreme Court to reinterpret our constitution. Why do you think they fought so hard against Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court!! What’s fair about taking a large portion of my income and giving it to groups that will subvert our nation to get free benefits? These groups include illegal immigrants who broke the laws of our country. I was born just a few years after World War II. While Russia and America cooperated to defeat Nazi Germany, they were never friends. Russia is communist and America is a capitalist country. Had it not been for our capitalist entrepreneurial American powerhouse we would all be speaking German under an oppressive socialist system. General George Patton was in favor of settling our differences with Russia at the time but the communist friendly Democrat administration stopped him. Russia instituted a long-term strategy to undermine our nation by paying key people in the media and universities to give favorable treatment to socialist and communist policies. During the 1950’s there was a small part of Hollywood that sympathized with communists and over the last 70 years you can see the socialist and communist messages that are inserted in movies, television shows and advertising. It used to be subdued but now it’s much more out in the open. Combined with the education systems 60-year conversion to accept and teach the messages of socialism and communism, stop teaching real American history and all of a sudden you have a country that seems very willing to accept open borders, subversion of the U.S. Constitution and change from a Capitalist system to a socialist system that undercuts American law and is laying the ground work for Sharia law. 32
If you want to see the benefits of capitalism all you have to do is look at the economy under Obama and compare it to the economy under Trump. If we don’t elect politicians who support the U.S. Constitution, American Law, Capitalism and national security we will end up servants to big government in a totalitarian state. If the leftist subversives win in November, anyone who doesn’t bow their head and agree to go along with what the leftist politicians dictate will eventually meet swift and harsh punishment. Communist dictators have killed millions of their own people around the world to keep dictatorial power. Russia, China, North Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, East Germany, many African nations, most of the middle East and many Central/South American Countries are socialist or communist dictatorships. Many have elections but the elections are rigged and those who try to protest about unfairness are jailed or executed. They’ve started here now by working to throw President Trump out office, undermine our police and replace free speech with political correctness. They divide us into groups to keep us fighting so we won’t come together as a people for freedom! Not only are we dealing with a very bold attempt by the media, Hollywood, Democrats and some Republicans but we are also facing nationally about 90 candidates who are either Sharia supremacists or support Sharia. Muslim immigration to Europe combined with Europe’s socialist mindset has created areas of Sharia law that ignore the laws of the country they are in. Why are the Democrats here in favor of unfettered immigration that breaks the immigration laws of our country? Why are they promoting Sharia Supremist candidates? Why are they doing their best to undermine a duly elected President who has turned our economy around and is working hard for our freedom? There is a segment of our population that is hell bent on subverting our nation and your freedom. They apparently don’t care what the end result will be. They want Americans unable to defend themselves, give their money to government and submit to government oppression. Don’t think it can’t happen. If Hillary had won we would have been cooked. The last administration subverted our intelligence agencies, the FBI and the IRS. It’s only by divine intervention that we elected a president willing to fight for our freedom from leftist communist oppression. It’s time to vote for Freedom or suffer enslavement!!!! Keep the faith. Thank a vet for the freedoms we still enjoy and support politicians who will bring back the ones we’ve lost. Fly the flag of the people and be proud you’re an American. Hug the families of those still missing because their quest for closure has not ended. Live the good life and ride for those who can’t. Bulldog * My monthly column reflects my personal point of view and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of the Publishers of this magazine, but they, like me, acknowledge the sacrifices made for the privilege of Freedom of Speech, therefore, they gratefully let me rant. Thank you for reading my rants. Hope my opinions don’t offend anyone, but, we all should be grateful for the right to have free opinions.

Two biker chicks are laying on the beach in Daytona while on vacation for Biketoberfest, deciding which Club to go to that night. The one younger chick says she heard of a great place where “the men customers are best known for being really good in the sack’. The older chick wisely responds, ‘Yeah, I’ve always found men are like beer; some just go down better than others’. -------------------------------------------------------------A little Louisiana’ boy was sitting on the curb with a gallon of turpentine and shaking it up and watching all the bubbles. A little while later a Priest came along and asked the little boy what he had. The little boy replied, “Dis here is the most powerful liquid in the world, it’s called turpentine.” The Priest said, “Actually, the most powerful liquid in the world is Holy Water. If you take some of this Holy Water and rub it on a pregnant women’s belly, she’ll pass a healthy baby. The little boy replied, “Oh yeah, well, if’n I take some of dis’ here turpentine and rub it on my lil’ brother’s ass, he’ll pass a Harley-Davidson.” -------------------------------------------------------------Five surgeons from big cities are discussing who makes the best patients to operate on. The first surgeon, from New York, says,” I like to see accountants on my operating table because when you open them up, everything inside is numbered.” The second, from Chicago, responds, “Yeah, but you should try electricians! Everything inside them is color coded.” The third surgeon, from Dallas, says, “No, I really think librarians are the best, everything inside them is in alphabetical order.” The fourth surgeon, from Los Angeles chimes in: “You know, I like construction workers. Those guys always understand when you have a few parts left over.” But the fifth surgeon, from Washington, DC, shut them all up when he observed: “You’re all wrong. Politicians are the easiest to operate on. There’s no guts, no heart, no balls, no brains, and no spine. Plus, the head and the ass are interchangeable.” -------------------------------------------------------------Just who was the first person to say, “See that chicken there? Two young business men in California were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store in the shopping mall. As yet, the store wasn’t ready, with only a few shelves and display racks set up. One said to the other, “I’ll bet that any minute now some lame-as senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we’re selling.” Sure enough, just a moment later, a curious senior gentleman walked up to the window, looked around intensely and rapped on the glass, then in a loud voice asked, “What are you sellin’ here?” One of the guys yelled sarcastically, “We’re selling ass-holes.” Without missing a single beat, the old timer said, “Sales are good. Only two left.” --------------------------------------------------------------A man was leaving a convenience store when he noticed a most unusual funeral procession approaching the nearby cemetery. A black hearse was followed by a second black hearse about 50 feet behind the first one. Behind the second hearse was a solitary man walking a dog on a leash. Behind him, a short distance back, were about 200 men walking in single file. The man watching couldn’t stand the curiosity. He respectfully approached the man walking the dog and said... “I am so sorry for your loss, and this may be a bad time to disturb you, but I’ve never seen a funeral like this. Whose funeral is it?” “My wife’s.” ‘’What happened to her?” “She yelled at me and my dog attacked and killed her.” He inquired further, “But who is in the second hearse?” “My mother-in-law. She came to help my wife and the dog turned on her and killed her also.” It was a very poignant and touching moment of brotherhood. Silence passed between the two men. The man then asked... “Can I borrow the dog?” The man walking the dog replied, “Get in line.” --------------------------------------------------------------A 12 year old is upstairs walking down the hall to the kitchen when he hears a woman’s scream over and over coming from his parent’s bedroom. He opens the door and sees his parents only with their heads at the bottom of the bed, his Dad on top. His Dad in the throes of passion looks up and sees him, but his only reaction is a big-ass grin and a thumbs up. About a week passes and the Dad is in the kitchen getting a late night snack when he hears all this moaning from the downstairs bedroom. He quietly opens the door to see his son really going hard on Grandma. The son looks up, stares straight into his Dad’s eyes with a big ole’ grin, a thumbs up, and says , “It’s not so damn funny when it’s your Mom is it?”.
