Just recently I got into a “Pastor’s pity party,” I was concerned about how some of God’s people are dealing with this pandemic, the economy, the violence in our streets, this presidential election and a list of personal problems. I am seeing some church people starting to doubt God and asking that same old question, “Why me Lord, how could you let this happen to me?” God warned me that if I was not careful, this “pity-party” would turn into “murmuring & complaining.” God then took me by the hand and walked me through the Book of Exodus, showing me the Children of Israel had murmured & complained against Moses and God fourteen times and what it cost them. God reminded me of when He gave Moses The Ten commandments to teach to the Children of Israel. Ex.32:16 And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.’ They were God’s thoughts, God carved, God’s hand written words. Man had nothing to do with creating The Ten Commandments, God did all the work Himself. But when Moses came down from the mountain with The Ten commandments, he saw God’s people worshipping a golden calf and dancing around the fire naked. Moses remembered what all he had given up for the Children of Israel, and what God was doing for all of them. Then Moses threw down and broke The Ten Commandments that God had made. God said to me; “don’t throw down and break what I have made for you, what I have thought for you and what I have written down for you, over what people have done to you!” When we doubt God in these trials and tribulations, we are doing the same thing Moses did by throwing down our faith. It’s easy to love and worship God when you’re on the mountain top, but will you serve Him in the valley? This is the time to run to God, not away from Him. Ex.32;26 Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, who is on the Lords side? That same question is being asked of us today, “WHO IS ON THE LORDS SIDE?” If you can doubt God in the valley, then you have a religion and not a relationship. Satan is trying to separate and isolate us so he can pick us off one at a time. Today everything is going virtual, we have virtual education, virtual seminars, virtual conferences, virtual sports, and now virtual Church services, we are becoming virtual Christians. This pandemic has stopped us from coming to God’s house, we have stopped praying, stopped reading our bibles, and stopped tithing. Heb. 10:25 “Not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as a matter of some.” Don’t you think God knew that this pandemic was coming when He wrote this scripture? Rev. 2:26 “And he that overcomes and keeps my word unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations.” If we are to be overcomers, then we must have challenges to overcome.
Until next time, keep your face in the wind and your kickstand up.
To be found faithful, Pastor Ron
