PROJECT ONE: CASE STUDY SLIDING HOUSE by dRMM, SUFFOLK, UK

This house is located in Suffolk, and it is located in an open grass, which means it doesn't have surrounding context. For this project the most amazing part is the outer shelter can moving, and created a lot of different possible functions for the space inside.

HOUSE SECTIONS AND PLANS

7 The house plans are showing the circulations of the pass around the house and the movement of the outer shelter itself, to better illustrating the concept.

9

Inside Space The experience of inside of the building can reflect most of the building. As can be seen inside of the sunlight house, the mazzinine level of the building is most important living place, and in this level can experience the movable shelter most, so, in the next two images, the difference will be shown.

Components Analysis. The diagram shows the components of the building itself. As it can be seen that the shelter covers not only the sunlight house but also covers the rest of the building as well. With the windows left on the shelter, the windows of the back building will not be covered, and the sunlight can enter the building through thouse outer windows to the inner windows, but they have to be located in the same position.

PROJECT TWO: DESIGN INSTALLATION MOVABLE COMPONENT FOR THE FUTURE RESIDENCY

In this project, I am focusing on the UK residential house, and I wanna create a suitable living environement for the people's house. These type of house are most common in UK, with gardens in the back. I am creating components to the building, which is movable, in order to improve the living quality for the residents.

DESIGN INTERVENTION The design is intended to fit the possible site and given useful function for the people belong to this site. Also the design is applying the concept of folding structure in order to space the affordable space of the site. The design is interacting with the UK's weather, and can improve people's life by changing the outdoor space.

STRUCTURE CLOSED

21

When the structure closed, it forms a interior space for people doing activities when the weather is raining. It is relatively a small space which makes people feels comfortable and have privacy. The structure will perfectly fit with the surrounding environment. When the structure opens, the exterior space could be used as normall, and without any difference than before. The folding structure is hidden underground and could be raised anytime if needed.
