Big Bend National Park is all about desert, and the feeling of been isolated from urban life when you hike inside the park. National park architecture shall becomes the vehicle for visitors experiencing the great landscape. In order to enahnce the sence of isolation into the architecture, couple of unique design features applied to this project. First, this facility designed to be a staff free environment. Second, the location of this project been set away from the major attarctions. Visitors have to hike to their destination instead of driving. The sence of 'isolated in the desert' will be enhanced. Last, the main material used in this project is concrete which would enhance the feeling of isolation. Big Bend National Park
