Registration was done at the tailgate of a pick up truck. Now hundreds of runners sign up in the hour before the race. Registrars can barely look up to greet familiar runners. Keep the date open July 4th. Help will be needed at the finish line and at registration. If you can help, e-mail Jim Cunningham. This year marks the 24th running of the

he rolling green hills, quaint downtown streets and college town atmosphere of this small city in central Vermont are just a few of the charms
of the annual springtime Middlebury Maple Run Half Marathon & Relay, nicknamed “The Sweetest Half” and set for its second annual running in the spring of 2010. More than 200 runners crossed the finish line at the race’s inaugural running in 2009, along a course that takes runners from the Middlebury town center out into the farm fields just north of town, and through the Middlebury College campus before bringing them out and back to town for the finish.
