Saturday June 21st was the start of Summer. According to the Wheel of the Year its Midsummer. Either way you spin the wheel, we are now half way through 2014. So the sun optimist looks at the calender as we are now in the longest days of the year with the warmest about to begin. Of course the winter optimist looks at the calender in a different prospective. This view looks forward to the winter sports of skating, skiing, tobogganing, snowmobiling and of course the festive holiday season. The pessimist view the midyear as getting too close to snow shoveling, dead batteries, power outages and the huge expense of those festive holiday events. hoever you are, we hope that you have been enjoying this new Northern Exposure Community Paper. All businesses need to market who they are, what they do and where they are. Some may feel that the location they are in is all the marketing they need. This can work sometimes for being in a shopping mall or along a high traffic road which they pay higher taxes. Others may feel all they need are larger outdoor signs. There are many ways to advertise and most businesses need to use multiple ways to get their information out to their prospective clients. They can also have a difficult time determining what works and what does not. But to cut down on their costs, its important for the business owners to know themselves what works and with a little help from you, they can achieve this. If you enjoy reading the Tidbits paper and now with the additional section called Northern Exposure Community Paper, please let our advertisers know you seen their ad and appreciate that they are marketing in it. Some of our clients have coupons in the paper, please clip and use them as this is their way to measure the effectiveness of marketing. Thank you very much, Russ Swart, Publisher.
