Nothing lifts one’s spirit like a newly decorated room, maybe highlighting a new piece of furniture, or perhaps a change in accessories and draperies with a matching rug.
For help in accomplishing this, the ladies — and men for that matter — at Ivor Furniture Company can fill the bill.
“Our primary concern is, of course, our customer’s concerns — what they want, their ideas,” said Ashlyn Scarborough, granddaughter of the store’s founder, Russell West. “Then we go from there.”
Scarborough, who is the bookkeeper as well as salesperson, works along with her brother, Dusty Scott and parents, Dixie and Alice Scott, at the 70-year-old family-owned business. Following West’s lead, the store carries everything for the home, from furniture and bedding to carpet and appliances.
Scarborough’s mother, Alice, said, “We’ve tried to keep things the way daddy would like, but we do keep up with the trends for our customers who like a change.”
“But on the other hand,” said Scarborough, “we carry good brands that will last a long time and many of our customers opt to stay the way they are.”
She noted that the store carries a good mix of merchandise
