A large number of studies support the claims made by graphology that psychological states of the writer is evident in handwriting. (reference: www.ahafhandwriting.org/research )

Handwriting analysis enjoys a sound scientific basis in the theory of expressive behaviour. According to Harvard psychologist Gordon Allport, “ "From our results it appears that a man's gesture and handwriting both reflect an essentially stable and constant individual style.... Furthermore, the evidence indicates that there is congruence between expressive movement and the attitudes, traits, values, and other dispositions of the "inner" personality." (ref)

In France, in 2002 graphology received official accreditation from the French Standards Institute (AFNOR), as an equivalent tool to personality tests (AFNOR NFX 50 – 767).

ď‚ž

Also graphology is recognized by psychologists in European countries and is taught for an accredited degree in universities in countries such as Spain, Italy, Hungary etc. and is taught along with the psychology curriculum in Germany, Switzerland, France etc. (reference: http://www.igc-grapho.net/the-status-of-graphology )

ď‚ž

According to psychological researcher David Lester, Ph.D., "... a majority of the studies support the validity of graphology and the accuracy of graphologists. Furthermore, as long as there is a fair number of studies that demonstrate the success of graphological judgments about people, and there does appear to be a fair number, we must accept that graphological judgments can be valid. "(The Psychological Basis of Handwriting Analysis, The Relationship of Handwriting to Personality and Psychotherapy, David Lester, Ph.D., Nelson Hall, Chicago, 1981, page 53).
