Dr Johan Van Der Walt Narkotiseer

HEAD OFFICE

These days it seems like more and more families are choosing to go on holiday with motorhomes. The ease of packing and knowing that your home away from home has everything you need, makes the start of the journey hassle free. Being on the open road and choosing to make a detour anywhere for a picnic or overnight stay is so much fun in a camper van. Whether you are travelling down to the coast or choosing to explore some of the backroads of the cape, South Africa has many scenic camping sites that are waiting to be explored.

Many motorhomes can cater for families up to 6 and come fitted with electricity and gas hubs as well as a microwave, air conditioner and fridge/freezer. Families with small kids especially enjoy the ease and convenience of sleeping under one roof while enjoying the great outdoors. The ease of setting up camp (they’re equipped with outside tables and chairs as well) leaves so much more time to explore your surroundings and at night the family can gather around the braai or enjoy card games around the well-lit interior of the motorhome dining table. Some people greatly value to privacy of an onboard bathroom and shower which is standard is most campers these days – so no more excuses for those needing their own WC!

Going on a motorhome adventure – your home away from home

At this time of year many family gatherings start to center around the conversation of what they are planning to do for the summer holidays. For many families the past adventures of a road trip in a motorhome may have to wait until the petrol price comes down a bit more. However, everyone may have the pleasure of remembering and reimagining their childhood memories going camping with their family in a caravan or motorhome.

To book your motorhome for your next family vacay, contact Bobo Campers for a reliable quote.

With so many exotic locations and scenic drives to choose from, South Africa really is a motorhome paradise. If you have not tried it yet, you might be in for a very big and comfortable surprise.

Lilyfontein School enjoyed a successful and productive Winter sport season after a long Covid drought. Team sports, physical exercise, a healthy competitive spirit and good sportsmanship are all vital ingredients for whole-child development and a well-rounded school experience. It has been incredible to see our teams out on the fields and courts once again, playing their hearts out in the codes that they love, and giving it their all through sunshine and rain to achieve some truly outstanding results. Our 1st Rugby, 1st Netball and 1st Girl’s Hockey teams all won the vast majority of their matches throughout the season. We feel that these results stand for themselves and represent the dedication of both the players, coaches and parents who contributed towards a successful season. We wish our Matric players all the best for the final months of their school career. look back to our winter sport season for and proudly share our first teams.

The boys came out in their numbers, on a warm and sunny afternoon, to enjoy the fulfilled afternoon. All the boys participated with huge enthusiasm and it was great to see boys of all differing ages participating too. On Marais A, Wiles got the better of Hutton in a 4-2 victory. In the second match Nielson House fought back from a halftime 4-1 deficit to salvage a 4-4 draw against Vernal. Goals, goals and even more goals was the order of the day. We’re looking forward to next week’s matches where Wiles will take on Nielson and Hutton will be locking horns with Vernal!

• 1st Wiles - 57 tries

Congrats to Aphiwe Mnyanda for taking 5 for 24 vs Daniel Pienaar today. Graeme ended on 141 after a promising start after struggling badly on Day 1 of the Pearson Festival. DP were bowled out with a lead of 1 run. With 25 overs left in the day, Graeme tried to force a result and declared on 99/ 3 after 11 overs. Aphiwe Mnyanda ended with 48 not out off 27 balls and Ethan Beyleveld blitzed 37 not out off 11 balls. DP chose to settle for a draw, and Graeme couldn’t take the 5 second innings wickets to force the outright win.

• u13 division winners - Hutton with 23 tries.

• Open division - Wiles with 22 tries.

Our cricketers have started the new season after a fantastic Winter sport season. With the Grade 12s still busy with prelims exams, it gives us a great opportunity to let a few new players gain some incredible experience. The 1st XI are currently at the Pearson Cricket Festival. There are matches against the Alice RPC on 17 September and Woodridge on 24 September.

• 4th Nielson - 36 tries.

• u14 division winners - tie with Wiles and Hutton both scoring 14 tries.

Final positions:

• 3rd Vernal - 37 tries
