Hockey girls/boys Netball

Penryn scholars who were selected to represent Mpumalanga and will be participating in the upcoming National and Regional Tournaments in June/ July.

Carol Ndapwadza, Tlangelani Ndlovu and Nolizwi Mlangeni were selected for the Mpumalanga u18 Girls A team and will be participating in the upcoming National and Regional Tournaments in June/ July. Nkosazane Jele was selected for the Mpumalanga u14 Netball team.

Swimming

Lys Banza was invited to attend the CANA Olympic Training Camp as well as swimming at the African Aquatics Grand Prix in January. The CANA Olympic Training is funded by the World Aquatics (previously FINA) and involves swimmers from various countries in Africa, as well as 20 swimmers from South Africa. Lys was one of three swimmers from Mpumalanga to have been invited to join the training camp based on her performance and talent displayed during the SSA National Training Camp. Lys also swam at the SA Level 3 Regional Age Group Championship in early April where she won the 200m and 400m freestyle, she won the 50m breaststroke as well the 4x100m freestyle relay as well as the 4x50m medley relay in the u15 age group.

Miela Banza was also invited to attend the CANA Olympic Trainning Camp as well as swim at the Africa Aquatics Grand Priz in January.

Rugby

Miela swam at the SA junior national Championship in April and won th 200 m Breaststroke and came 2nd in the 50 m and 100m breaststroke events. She also competed in the SA School swimming Championships in April weher she came 2nd in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m Breaststroke. Miela won Gold in the u13, 50m Breaststroke.
