FRESH EGGS NOURISH THE MIND
AWSUM verjaar en ons word 7! FlySafair partners with Die wêreld van skoolnuus AWSUM as exclusive flight verander na ‘n kreatiewe partner to schools in SA omgewing Considering that Safair is one of South Africa’s busiest airlines, your school can now also benefit from income derived through flight bookings. AWSUM has negotiated that a percentage of all online booking sales be paid to participating schools. “If you look at the values the companies have in common, the partnership makes perfect sense,” said Durandt van Zyl, CEO of TieMedia. “Both AWSUM and FlySafair have a cost saving strategy and both have a real commitment to innovation. I’m confident we’ve come up with something very special,” said van Zyl. The centrepiece of the marketing drive will be the AWSUM App for Schools – a perfect tool to house all your communication channels (news, notifications, academic, cultural, sporting info, website and social media links and even home to your parent portal platforms such as Ed-Admin or other database links). By working closely with FlySafair, we’ve designed a system perfectly adapted to the school environment, and one which will deliver additional income to the school. Schools can promote flights in line with upcoming tournaments and encourage parents to book their flights through the school. Parents are now able to book flights through the app and the school earn commission from these bookings. We will communicate this new benefit to your parents via our network of channels as well as provide you with communication material to put on your own school networks. The AWSUM App provides schools with an opportunity to generate substantial unlimited monthly income which is desperately needed in the South African educational system. Read more on the School App here: https://www.awsum.co.za/awsum-mobile-app-for-schools If you have any questions, please send an email to awsumnews@tiemedia.co.za.

Low Carb Breakfast Pizza
This low carb breakfast pizza is made with a delicious, cheesy coconut flour crust. Add cheese, eggs and bacon, and you’ve got yourself the perfect breakfast pizza!
Ingredients • Olive oil spray • 4 large Nulaid eggs • 2 tablespoons water • 1 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 teaspoon onion powder • 1 teaspoon dried oregano • ¼ cup coconut flour • 6 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese (1 oz)
Toppings: • 6 bacon strips • 1 cup shredded provolone cheese (4 oz) • 6 small or medium eggs
Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line two pans with parchment paper and spray the paper with olive oil. 2. Place the bacon strips in a large cold skillet. Heat the skillet over medium heat. Cook the bacon until just crisp. Allow to cool on paper towels, then cut into bite-size pieces. Set aside. 3. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs with the water, garlic powder, onion powder and dried oregano. 4. Measure out the coconut flour, breaking up any lumps with your hands. Stir the coconut flour into the egg mixture, mixing until smooth. Stir in the Parmesan cheese. 5. Allow the mixture to rest and thicken for a couple of minutes. This will allow the coconut flour to soak up the liquid. 6. Using a rubber spatula, transfer half of the mixture onto each of the prepared pans. Use a spatula to spread it out evenly into an 8-inch circle. 7. Bake the pizzas until just set but still light in color, about 10 minutes. 8. Remove the baked crusts from the oven. Spray them with olive oil. Sprinkle each crust with half the shredded cheese. 9. Break the eggs into a small bowl, then slide them onto the pizzas. If you’re using large eggs, it’s best to pour out some of the egg whites. 10. Return the pizzas to the oven. Bake until egg whites are almost set, about 10 minutes. Sprinkle the pizzas with the bacon pieces. Bake until egg whites are fully cooked, 2-3 more minutes. 11. Allow to rest 5 minutes before cutting each pizza into three big slices and serving. https://healthyrecipesblogs.com/low-carb-breakfast-pizza/

CRAIGHALL PRIMARY SCHOOL (t) 011 788 7223/4 (e) gazette@craighallprimary.co.za Grade 5 – English Lesson Last week the Grade 5’s in English, were learning about instructional texts, how to follow them and how to write their own one. As part of one of their activities they had to follow a slightly complex set of instructions that that guided them to make their very own bracelet, using 4 different colours of wool. Although what started with trial and error (and a lot of untying) by the end of the lesson they managed to master their skill and completed their very own bracelets!
