International Research University

The University of Oulu is a multidisciplinary community of researchers, teachers and students. It aims at promoting new knowledge, culture and wellbeing. The University encompasses eight fields of study: Humanities, Education, Economics and Business, Science, Medicine, Dentistry, Health Sciences, and Technology. In all, more than 70 different specialist disciplines are represented. The strengths of the University of Oulu are its broad academic base, top-level research in its chosen focus areas, and quality of education. The University has close links to the business community and other research institutions. It collaborates with hundreds of universities and partners abroad. The University of Oulu is ranked several times as one of the best five hundred universities in the world.
