Tiffany Liu
a lover of words, color s, stories, and, above all, people
Tiffany Liu Hello! I am currently a student in the Carroll School of Management at Boston College, majoring in Business with concentrations in Information Systems and Finance and a minor in Managing Social Impact for the Public Good. Clean lines, vivid color palettes, sharp serifs, and the highest-quality photos make me incredibly excited. People and stories allow me to not just be a designer but also a storyteller. And I think storytelling is the most powerful aspect of design.

A PART OF NATURE BLOOD RED ROSE Concrete steps lead to stadium stands Hard rain echoes Sounds of only moments ago Dull drone of the crowd Wet, black asphalt Empty sky A stark red rose A slight red nose You are fundraising I buy one As you hand it to me you ask who it is for I say the prettiest girl in the world I give it back to you The thunder of the crowd Green field dotted white They won I won

ON NIGHTS WHEN THE SKY IS FALLING There’s something charming In the way rain comes, Perpetually.

OBSESS
As the pulse of drops on roof Drums a troubled mind to sleep And sheets of falling sky obscure The sight of stars and city lights, There’s no alone to feel— The blank expanses, sky and space Are muddled warmth by atmosphere. Dreams of rebirth take their shape— The sound of nature breathing Water out, then water in Resurrection musical, Earth born again by drowning. Then, echoes of that ancient force fade, Nature’s vocal symphony recedes And dormant human clattering Returns, to reassert its Dominance.

DIVERSITY in Tech: A look at the Numbers More than ever, there is a need for brands, as reflections and shapers of culture, to have a role in addressing and engaging with social issues. not just for positive public relations but as a group of people with empathy for others. Companies do not exist in a vacuum of profits and maximization. Or, as a pillar of a civilization, business does not either. Below are 8 tech companies and the race percentage of employees. The total proportions are compared to the U.S. population’s percentages.

While these numbers don’t show the levels of leadership within the respective company, it’s positive to see at least one minority, Asian, well represented in these companies. However, it is more dismal to see that Blacks and Latinos, across tech, are in very low percentages. Amazon percentages’ best reflect the population, but Amazon also has a wide skill-level of jobs that they offer, namely their part-time jobs. While many companies are implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives, it aims to be seen if those programs are enough to tackle an expansive societal issue.
