Dear TIGI® Nation, Where do I begin? Since joining the TIGI® family in August, I’ve experienced a whirlwind journey of full immersion into the amazing culture of TIGI®. I’m looking very forward to 2015, but first would like to take a minute to thank my incredibly hard working team, as well as each and every hairdresser and client using TIGI® for making 2014 a truly great year. 2015 is a new year, and with every new year comes the opportunity to reflect on the past and challenge ourselves, both personally and professionally, to make the future even brighter. Trust me when I say that change can open up a whole new world of opportunity. In 2014, I experienced it firsthand when I joined TIGI® and moved my family from New York to Texas. Our journey so far has truly been a memorable, rewarding and challenging one and I know 2015 will be no different. As we begin another year, I’d love to start by sharing our priorities. Above all is education. Education is the DNA of TIGI® and the backbone of our industry and we are committed to providing you with the very best. If you have not had a chance to experience the world class education featured at our TIGI® Academy in New York it is an experience you won’t soon forget. There is no doubt you will leave with a reignited passion for hairdressing, endless knowledge and techniques and a deeper understanding of why education is at the heart of everything we do. We will also be taking our education on the road starting in March 2015 with the kick off the TIGI® copyright©olour™ tour, featuring Anthony Mascolo, Christel Lundqvist and the TIGI® International Creative Team. Bringing this tour to key markets is essential for us to grow our colour cult and excite both new colorists as well as those already loving our unique haircolour. The growth opportunities with TIGI® copyright©olour™ are tremendous and it’s at the top of our list for the coming year. Best in class innovation played a key role in our success in 2014 and will continue throughout 2015. e s u M TIGI® Bed Head® recently rocked a new partnership with singer and songwriter, Charli XCX. This British bombshell came on the American music scene in early 2013 with her first major album, but Charli XCX’s celebrity status has skyrocketed since she became the creative genius (no pun intended) behind this year’s biggest hits, including Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” and Icona Pop’s “I Love It.” Following her release of her hit song “Boom, Clap,” (a.k.a- the song that’s been stuck in your head for the past 3 months), Charli XCX hit the road in the US to promote her soon to be released album, Suckers. Bed Head®, of course, had to get in on the action!

In addition to styling the performer’s hair for her Dallas and Austin, Texas shows, we also gave concert-goers stylish hairdos and Bed Head® Cult Creations product samples. To commemorate the partnership, TIGI® also did a photo shoot with the Charli to channel her Pretty in Pink meets London Street street style, during which TIGI® U.S. Creative Director, Thomas Osborn, used Bed Head® products to create nonchalant hairstyles reflective of Charli XCX’s low maintenance, cool and easy going attitude. Charli’s love for the product After Party™, rockin’ natural curls and edgy attitude make Charli XCX a perfect pair for a rebellious brand like Bed Head®.


HAIR: Thomas OSBORN DALLAS, TX Osborn first applied Bed Head® Control Freak™ Serum to damp hair to smooth and tame it, then followed with Bed Head® On The Rebound™ Curl Recall Cream to bring out the natural coils. He lightly diffused the hair on a low setting to define the curls and used the TIGI®PRO Fat Curl Stick where needed. He then ran his fingers through the hair for lived-in texture with understated elegance. Osborn finished the look with Bed Head® Headrush™, misting it to add shine and Bed Head® FlexiHead™ hairspray for moveable hold.


Thomas Osborn smoothed hair with a large round brush, making sure to follow up with a pushed-back movement to add texture. He then sprayed Bed Head® Headrush™, misting it onto the hair for shine and separation, and finished with Bed Head® Masterpiece™ hairspray.

A toning technique was used on prelightened hair, to create an overall rich cotton white, blending through to elderflower hues to introduce softness to the textured haircut.

•01. The hair was pre-lightened using Formula 1 before applying a toning technique to towel-dried hair.

•05. Working from the radial towards the hair line, take ½ inch vertical slices applying Formula 2 from the roots through to the mid-lengths and ends.
