For five years, Heath Grout worked under Anthony Mascolo and Nick Irwin in London and now is the TIGI® USA Creative Director at the TIGI® SOHO Academy. Heath’s main role at the Academy is to develop ideas for new collections and provide outstanding education to TIGI®’s customers.

Monique Bryant is the Academy Coordinator in Management at the TIGI® SOHO Academy; she feels privileged to work in such a creative space where education makes progression. In her spare time, Monique works as a freelance makeup artist, a craft she has practiced for eight years.

TIGI® has always been by hairdressers, for hairdressers… and it is that motto that drives us to constantly deliver new and innovative education. Fashion Week Favorites! Christopher Catanese Christopher q & A How long have you been in hairdressing and how did you begin your career? I have been in the industry for 13 years; as a makeup artist at first, and then as a hairdresser. My original goal was to do special effects and mortuary work for makeup, but seeing the way the beauty industry was evolving inspired me to pursue hairdressing. I was drawn to TIGI® and their 4 point cutting system. What was your favorite show from Spring/Summer `13? Chris Benz, because it incorporated a more lived-in natural texture. The look was based on a rebellious style from the 70’s made by using next day hair after sleeping in a braid, which went totally against the normal smooth, sleek, clean look that was popular at that time. Any upcoming trends that you are excited about? Trends I’ve noticed are stronger, bolder weight lines… precision shapes are back! Above the shoulder baselines, heavy fringes, and all variations of mop shapes are everywhere, and I love it!
